Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

In the last number of months a number of very active DK members have disappeared from our pages. I was beginning to think we had a DK serial killer. I wasn't particularly involved with any of them but I did wonder about them Some I have learned had family illnesses, others ?  I think people should check in once in a while to say hello, I'm OK  etc. Or tell someone else on DK to let us know. It's funny but I think we can become attached in some ways, and get to know folks we meet online daily. Obviously real life takes precedence. Any thoughts?

I was addicted to DK for several months last year after I got my Webster. Then the holidays, new year, new house, life just got busy and I wasn't spending much time on the computer. I think it was several months of not even typing in the DoodleKisses web address :-(
We started thinking about another puppy and I started thinking DK :-) Now, I'm back to checking the site daily - often several times each day. I homeschool and some days DK is my sanity - my kids do math, language, etc, and I grab a few seconds of "me" time on DoodleKisses. I'll probably be a regular, at least until summer break - HA!
I have noticed that some of last years active members aren't around as much - I'm guessing their lives got busy just like mine did.
This is why the HDA Trophy is delayed (finally en route today....shhhhh.....). Couldn't get in touch with one person in particular, someone I used to Private Msg frequently. Makes me so sad :(
I find it interesting that other people are experiencing the same thoughts and feelings as I am. I guess it should be no surprise, since I've been using the phrase, which is not original, that we are all more alike than not alike, for years. I'm glad that I posted this.
Work, Zumba, bowling and hiking with the dogs.

Bella still alive and kicking at age 11 (september17).
Even if people might not have realized I am also one of the disappeared doodlers lol. I for instance was so busy at work the past weeks that I didn't have time to find a second during the day to check DK and didn't have any energy left in the evenings to turn on the computer anymore. I preferred to cuddle with my boys and fall asleep with them on the couch. Today is actually the first day I managed at least to quickly browse through the discussions on the main page and fell over this one. So I thought I add my piece here at least.
Also both of my boys are kind of sick. Benny is dealing with some digestion system issues which the vet haven't figured out completely yet and Tyler ripped off one of his dew claws on Sunday while playing - so they are keeping me busy too.
I guess a lot of the disappeared doodlers have some "stupid" reasons like me to stay away from DK at the moment - or at least let's hope that nothing serious is keeping them away.
I will be traveling for work a lot until the end of the year so it will be difficult for me to contribute as much as I did in the past but I will try to say Hi every now and then at least.
I will be also in Portland, Oregon from on Nov 18th for a week - so if anyone is in the area I would love to meet to cuddle some doodles while mine are so far away in Europe.
I could also use some tips around Portland - but I will check if there is a Oregon group here as well :)

Although I am not online daily at the moment - DK is always on my mind! Miss you guys and the stories around your furry babies!
Zoe, Check to see if there is an Oregon area group, post that you will be there, and maybe you could meet up with a couple of American doodles!
It's good to hear from you. Thanks for checking in and please continue to do so. Hope the doodles recover quickly. I visited Portland once. It's a lovely city.
