I know it's a natural instinct for a dog to dig, but if anyone knows how to stop a doodle from digging, I would appreciate it before we are both banned from the back yard!

So I just went outside in the pouring rain looking for some of Hunter's poop to put in the cave she has been digging under our porch. I am really hoping you guys are right about this since my neighbor's and DH think I am certified NUTS now doing this in the rain I was so desperate!! LOL
Oh, you will definitely have to give us an update on THAT story!!! LOL!! Denise you are a trouper!!
We raised a guide dog puppy once who would dig holes in the yard...not a permitted behavior for him! What my supervisor had us do was to redirect his digging, as others have mentioned. I got a kiddie pool, filled it with sand, & put treats in there. If he dug elsewhere we redirected him to "his" spot. Soon he only dug there...it was more fun for him! For you, that might be enough...but since our goal was to eliminate the behavior entirely, we gradually...very gradually...reduced the amount of sand in the kiddie pool. As the sand diminished, his interest dropped. Eventually he no longer dug at all, anywhere. Best of luck to you!!
