Over the past few months we've all shared in the heartwarming stories of Doodles who have been saved through the tireless and inspiring efforts of the DRC and its "army of volunteers". It's hard for me to put into words how I've felt just reading these stories. From the volunteers who put everything aside and drive hours to pull an endangered Doodle from a shelter, to the fosters who nurse them back to physical and emotional health, to the families who adopt them and teach them how to love and trust again, and finally to our beloved dogs who have seen the worst side of humanity, but never stop hoping for a beautiful tomorrow where safety and love prevail - it's all of this that brightens my mornings when I log on in search of a "happy ending".
There have been so many of these "happily ever afters" of late, but there are still many Doodles suffering who need us...need DRC. Because of this we've created a new brochure that we feel tells our story and invites "Doodle lovers" to make our "army" even stronger. The DRC message is compelling, and we need to share it. We're hoping that this brochure will help to do just that. We're looking for help to pass these out at Doodle Romps, and we know there are many planned this Fall. If you're going to attend a Romp, will you please consider distributing our brochure? We ask that you print some (double sided) and fold them down the middle. If you don't have the ability to print, you can send me a message, and I'll send them to you. Please direct anyone that you meet who is interested in volunteering or donating to the DRC website, which is
www.doodlerescuecollectiveinc.org. You can print from the PDF which is attached to this message or from the DRC site.
This brochure has been a "work in progress" for the past few months, and we're always looking for feedback so that we can continuously improve it. We'd really love your thoughts and input.
To all our supporters and committed volunteers, how do we even begin to say thank you. I have this fun vision of all the "DRC Doodles" lined up with big, happy smiles giving "high fives" to the DRC Team who made their new lives possible. What could possible be better than that? I know...an even longer line of "high fiving Doodles". You can help to make that happen!
