I thought it might be fun to share ideas for products/gifts that can be made with photos. It would also be helpful to which companies you've ordered from and had a good experience (and not so good experience) with.

I found a place that can make customized "GelaSkins" (protective, scratch resistant covers) for your phones, laptops, etc, from your photo: http://gelaskins.com/About I think I might order one for my iPhone and laptop! (I'm such a gadget/gizmo nerd!)
Oh, This looks really cool!!
Shutterfly has lots of photo gift options but they aren't necessarily inexpensive. I ordered a calendar from them once at it came out very nice--high quality. WalMart also has photo gift options. The one that impressed me was a very large (maybe 5' x 7') throw . . . What I am really interested in are ideas that I can do myself on a high quality photo printer. Actually, I did make t-shirts for Christmas one year. I found iron-on transfers that you can print on your home printer! That was fun but they didn't wash too well!!!!!
I would love to get a blanket/throw made from a photo! :)
I had a throw made for my grandma that had a photo of all her daughters on it.  Came out really nice!
Do you remember where you ordered it?
Hi Linda! A few years ago, I ordered a photo throw from QVC. If you go to qvc.com and put M20766 or photo throw in the search box, you will find them. It looks like the throw is waitlisted right now. If you're interested I would sign up for the waitlist. It is easy to call customer service and set up an account.

When I ordered, I didn't have a choice of border color or having words woven in it. My husband loved this unique gift. The picture on the throw was of him and our doodle Ellie. It cost me about $100 with shipping and handling. I thought it was a lot of money at the time but it was well worth it!!!!!!!! My husband is someone who buys what he needs- so it was fun to surprise him with a gift he wasn't expecting. Ellie is "his girl".
What a great gift idea for a person who is hard to buy for. My inlaws would probably LOVE a throw with their Yorkie Poo's photo on it. :)
I've ordered from Shutterfly MANY times --- I love their photo books. I make grandma & grandma "brag books" and souvenir books from specific trips, I've also made photo books to document our kids first two years of life. Very, very high quality for what you pay.
Ann and I have made several photo books using Apple via the Aperture 3 software and are very pleased with the quality of the photo books.

I have used www.MyPublisher.com also to make photo books in the past and was pleased with there quality and they had better prices and specials at times to get a really good price. I have not used MyPublisher recently but am considering them again due to price better value than the book through Apple. Although making the book using Aperture 3 gave much more flexibility to do what we wanted. Having said that I have not tried the latest version of MyPublisher so maybe they have caught up.

Linda I will have to take a look at that website you have listed.

Thanks
Mike
When my Niece and Nephew were first away at College my Parents were almost having withdrawal symptoms because they had been so close to the grandchildren. I made them a quilt with pictures of the kids and then on the back of the quilt I put a heart that said "Wrap this around you while they are away and close to you they will always stay". It was a pretty big undertaking for me because I'm not all that crafty and a sewing machine is not my friend, but it served the purpose. Here is a pic of them the day I gave it to them. So, if I can do it, anyone can do it!

WOW! That's AWESOME! How did you put their photos on the squares? Is the quilt machine washable?
