Full disclosure, I am really interested, personally, in how you found DoodleKisses as I think it's a fun topic and helps us all get to know each other better. But, I'm also asking because I'm starting a new company (more details later I'm sure) that will, in the first 6 months, rely heavily upon locating influential people (women primarily) on social media sites who like to help people and tend to forward things (helpful and valuable things - not time wasters) to others who then take action.
Sorry I can't go into full detail on what I'm talking about - I will at some point.
Anyway - what made you seek DoodleKisses? Did you join any other doodle/dog forums prior? after? Do you participate in other forums? How many?

After getting Riley, I googled around looking for a doodle website and found Doodle Kisses. DK is the only dog-based social media forum that I've joined, and I check it on a daily basis for new postings. For me, there was no need to look for other doodle- or dog-related forums because I tend to find everything that I need archived on this website. If not, then I post a question and wait for constructive and helpful responses/feedback from the wonderful DK community. I also really liked the organization, format, and look and feel of the website.......although one shouldn't judge a book by its cover, these things resonate with me. I can't tell you how many times I will be shopping for something online, and sometimes I'll leave a site because I can't stand its layout (e.g., rainbow text, jumbled layout, lack of user-friendliness, etc.).
The only other social media forum that I participate in on a regular basis is dramabeans.com -- a forum for international addicts of Korean TV dramas -- my favorite form of crack and my true guilty pleasure. I was trying to find a website that provided well-written summaries of the shows, but most of sites I found consisted of fangirls squeeing over the actors and using an unlimited number of exclamation points and emoticoms. Then, I found dramabeans.com, where the site owner deconstructs and intelligently dissects these dramas like a literary review (with a side of snark) that it has truly elevated my appreciation of them. I love the content of the website, as well as its look, feel, and organization. There's still quite a fair share of commenters squeeing over actors, but there are also several regular commenters who provide a lot of useful insight on the drama or cultural references, which adds to my drama-viewing experience.
That is totally interesting! I am going to have to check out addicts of Korean TV dramas. That is a category that I haven't stumbled upon yet!
Can you imagine what life would be like if we didn't have the ability to connect with people all over the world who share our guilty pleasures.
I will admit that the first forum that I was REALLY active on was one dedicated to planning destination weddings. So - yeah - you're getting married in a remote location, it makes sense to share and learn as much as possible about the vendors, the prices people are getting, the things that you can do, etc. The guilty pleasure was that I stayed really active for at least 6 months AFTER we got married! OK - time to move on.

You'll be surprised, there are a LOT of people addicted to Korean TV dramas, and most of them aren't Korean and can't speak or understand Korean. There are several sites dedicated to subbing dramas and not just English translations...French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, etc. To get a sense what lengths people will do to fulfill their itch for kdramas, check out some of the crazy stories at http://www.dramabeans.com/2010/06/dramabeans-giveaway-tell-us-your-.... My favorite is #203 -- while in labor, a woman demanded that the nurses let her watch her kdrama on a computer laptop in the delivery room and then she named her daughter after the main character.
I found DK through Doodle Zoo. I found Doodle Zoo through a google search I did about a doodle question. Through reading posts I found both DK and Doodle World (I think). I joined both DK and Doodle World, but felt more comfortable here at DK so that's where I've stayed. The only other social network I'm a part of is Facebook, but not very active there.
I was watching a YouTube video (after searching doodles) and the thing was posted by a DoodleKisses member so it took me here. I am so happy I found it.
Our breeder has reference link on their site. The reference was to their first doodle customer that linked back to doodlekisses.com/profile/person's name! Just joined this site on Monday. New puppy arriving on 9/24...most likely won't have time to join another one now!
Well... When I first got Tori I was searching anything "doodle" on google (teehee - that kind of has a nice rhythmic sound). I actually was on 'another site' (should I mention it? NOT Doodle Zoo) for a while. I was telling my friend who just got a goldendoodle, and she mentioned this site. I checked it out, but it seemed to be more for GOLDEN and LABRA doodles (that's actually what the explanation on google said says... but I figured I'd check it out. While searching "GROUPS" I found the aussiedoodle group so I stayed and here I am just a couple of weeks over a year.
Okay... I saw someone else mentioned the 'other' site - it was Doodle World. I do still check it out every once in a while, but 99% of all my discussions are here. I too, belong to Facebook. Good luck, Natasha!
