My Mom's Gallery Opening

I just realized I should have let local doodle owners KNOW so they could visit!  *Doh*  Anyway, my mom showcased her new paintings at a gallery yesterday and here are some photos below.  The majority are her memories of Communist Romania:

The writing displayed next to the paintings are poems she wrote about her memories to help people understand her experience.

My favorite one out of the communist memory themed ones is the one under her sign below...but I don't have a close up of that one (I wasn't physically there and just using what was taken by my mom or step-dad).

Out of everything she's done these trees are my top favorites along with the painting of cows I have in my house.

I believe it's all oil with collage.

This month my sister Stephanie (who has Down syndrom) has added her pencil drawings to the show--they are actually pretty good. Sorry no pics.

My son lived/worked (environmental engineer) in Bucharest for 5 months during the summer of 2008. He did not want to come back to finish his last semester of grad school. The people were absolutely wonderful to him.
Yesterday I received an application for a medical mission to Iasi, Romania in the spring. (through Tulane). I am trying to figure out how to do it.
