3 Doodle Puppies in Lancaster CA to be Euthanized Thursday

This is one of 3 puppies in the Lancaster, CA shelter that need to be rescued before Thursday. The shelter told me that a 'breeder' brought in the 8 week old puppies because they didn't have the money to vet them? They will be chipped and 1st set of shots before adoption.

 

 I have tried several rescues to pull them and so far the only response I got was one that said they are out of town until the end of the week and they can't save them? WTD??? Forget them!

 

I can't be in CA saving doodles and live in NJ!  Is there anyone looking to add a puppy to their family or know someone that wants to adopt a doodle puppy?

 

The DRC is in need of foster homes in Southern CA - without them, doodles like these will continue to be euthanized for no reason other than lack of space in the shelters.

are you able to contact the members of the California doodles group/s on doodlekisses for help? maybe post specifically to that group explaining the circumstances?

good luck :) how can someone call themselves a 'breeder' & do this?

My heart is breaking! Is there anything I can do from WA? I can call more rescue groups tomorrow if you think it will help. I wish I knew people down there!

Hi Diane - I am a Director with the DRC. I have been trying for 3 days to get fosters or adopters for the puppies and haven't been successful. I understand that it's back to school and time is so short.

We need volunteers in So Cal. We need fosters everywhere! There seems to be so many doodles showing up in shelters all over the country.

Wanna move to CA?? If I could I would. I would get a house with some acreage and build a Doodle House with everything they could ever want and save them all!!

Y-E-S... as long as you can guarantee NO RAINING IN THE HOUSE!!! unless of course we have a really cool indoor rainforest and pool... just for the DOODS of course;) LOL

We drove down to Lancaster today to see the pups. There were no doodles there at all, although many other beautiful pups in need of rescue. We were very interested in this brown pup because he looked a lot like Hondo and we are looking for a replacement for Hondo and a companion for Groucho Too. There were ten puppies in a small cage and no brown ones or doodles. The one that apparently went with this photo and number (the only male in the cage) was black with some white hairs and it said chowchow mix on his card today. (He had a blue tongue so that seems about right.) It said poodle mix on one notice yesterday and retriever mix on the other. We called yesterday and talked with them at the shelter, but they could give no more information. They said to come look at the puppy, so we did.

Lynda, that makes sense because I can't find any labradoodle puppies at all on the Lancaster shelter site. Was there anyone there that knew anything helpful? So, are you saying the impound number that was attached to the brown picture that Adrianne posted was in reality a black chow mix? Doesn't surprise me I guess. Although, these messages are getting posted kind of slowly and I just got the email of Adrianne beginning the thread about an hour ago and now I see she started it 3 hours ago. Too bad, I kind of wanted that brown one too! And I have another foster almost ready to go too. Easier to find them for these cute little puppies. I am sure I could have found fosters for all of them.

We are not in So Cal, but we are amenable to having a rescue doodle, a rehome, or even to purchase one from a reputable breeder. In other words, we want another doodle - aussiedoodle, labradoodle, or goldendoodle. Suggestions?
