Gorgeous Young Goldendoodle Needs a Home!

Mackie is about 18 months old and has been sitting in a boarding kennel for 5 weeks. His owner, who purchased him as a puppy, sent him there because he growled and snapped at some visiting children while he was tied to a table in his home and there was a party going on for one of the family's five young children.

Mackie is a big energetic puppy who needs love, attention and structure. He is fully obedience trained but will need a home where his owners are willing to guide him and provide plenty of exercise. This was lacking in Mackie's former home. Consequently, Mackie can become nervous and over-excited.  Mackie is very affectionate but does need someone who can provide discipline along with affection.

These photos do not do him justice. He is absolutely gorgeous, with a thick, non-shedding fleece coat and beautiful big black doodle nose. He is a standard size doodle, about 55-60 lbs.

If you have a friend or relative within driving distance of Chicago who is looking for a wonderful doodle boy, please contact me or the DRC. Only homes with a fully fenced yard and children over the age of 13 will be considered.

I was wondering if hes still available,what a gorgeous dog,I have a 2yearold male,Who isthe best loving gentile dog i could ever ask for!! Did Mackie ever bite anyone ,cause mine would growl when he was a puppy,he outgrew it.where is he at in Chicago? Would love to see him and how he would be with mine!!!pLEASE GET BACK TO ME!!! kATHY

Yes, he is still available. He has never bitten anyone, but he growled at children who approached him while he was tethered at a soccer game and at home during a party while he was also tethered (not children from his own family), and the second time he also snapped. The trainers at the boarding facility feel that this is due to nervousness from the extreme lack of structure and order in the home, but obviously, he cannot go to a family with children.
He's not a puppy, but he acts like one...pushy, mouthy, starved for attention and exercise.
