Unscented Grooming Products? Tangle Free-Conditioner-Grooming Ease Products

Before I purchase another product that will just rot on the shelf I wanted to get some opinions.  I wish we could SMELL on the internet--of course, not in the Poop Group, but it would be great if we could here  :)

Like most of you I have invested a lot of money in grooming products and my grooming bag is an army full of things to tackle the Doodle Coat but I need a product to use on  Spud's coat; a  very dense, curly, wooly on the back, thick and silky on the legs.   He MATS and I believe he always will.

Being picky with scents myself, I respect his feelings.  He will growl and run if I use Mane-n-Tail.   Cowboy Magic was a little better but not much.  He likes my Vanilla Hand Cream (?) and I used a Loreal Coconut Conditioner Last Week and got no growling complaints but the amount I would use for his coat would end up costing $20.00 twice a week. NOT

Anyone else use an unscented grooming cream, lotion, spray during grooming?

I use Burt's Bees unscented shampoo & wash. It still smells vaguely honey-ish, but very nice.
But you didn't ask about shampoo.
I now use PetHead detangling spray, which smells like Strawberry Yogurt, but the scent seems to fade fast (I am pretty picky and I don't hate it).
Thanks Melissa--I am OUT of Shampoo too, thanks for reminding me and that would be another product to add to my list.

You know, I wish I could take Spud out shopping for a smell test. He has an expressive face and I know he would let me know what was good and not good for him.
LOL at Spud the picky metro-sexual toiletry man. Could it be that he likes scents reminiscent of food? At least with the Burt's Bees, if Spud doesn't like it, you can use it. (It is what I wash my kids' hair and bodies with.)
Melissa--Bingo, that's Spud!

I also read somewhere that someone used Green, Johnson and Johnson Baby Shampoo and loved it.

I have used NO MORE TANGLES--Forget that one.

I am looking into buying something called THE STUFF. I know it is scented but only know one DK member who uses the product.
I use it too :) It is not heavily scented, I still only smell the shampoo after spraying THE STUFF and then drying.
Thank You!
I have not use any unscented products, but really like the Chris Christensen Ice on Ice conditioner, both the rinse out formula and the leave-in conditioner. I got them on-line. The smell is fresh and Melody's coat does mat, and this helps a lot.
Hmm I forgot all about Chris. I'll look at those too
Oops...the conditioner that I rinse out is called "Day to Day", and the leave-in spray conditioner is "Ice on Ice"...sorry!
Gracie Doodle does not have a thick dense coat. She is a wavy fleece and I keep her pretty short. I have tried various stuff over the years but have always gone back to buying the good ol' Original Pantene Shampoo with Conditioner in one. I then use old bottles that I have saved and dilute it way down. That way I can suds her up but it rinses off very easily where the thick shampoos and conditioners take a long time to disperse through the hair and then rinse out. I basically use an entire shampoo bottle of diluted shampoo at every wash. It is not thick at all. Rather watery but it certainly does the trick and she smells really good and fresh. It is not a perfumey smell at all. My neighbor uses it on her Springers...she was the one who taught me to use it!!!
Great idea to dilute the shampoos too! I totally understand where you are coming from and I have just the bottle to dilute my shampoo/conditioner down tonight! Thanks Nancie
Maybe I should ask this in a separate post, but I think the shampoo Camus needs should not be scented either. I am looking for a good shampoo & rinse for itchy sensitive skin. Possibly alergic. Camus has a scruffy shedding coat, at least what is left of it. His skin even reacts to brushing. Does anyone have any suggestions?
