Maple is coughing. She is happy, eating and pooping but coughing. It's a "hack" and about a third of the time she spits up a little white mucus-like foam. She is keeping her food down and drinking water. Anyone experience this?
The girls are doing better today. The Robitussin DM really put the brakes on the coughing. Now they can rest and get better. Still watching for changes to the worse just in case.
Tough that they don't like the taste of the medicine. We had to squirt it down their throats with a baby syringe.
The dogs good karma is kicking in....A package arrived from my niece in Arizona who is starting a side business baking organic dog treats. She didn't know they were sick - great timing for a taste test!
I love the Natures Miracle, especially the new orange scented. Has anyone ever used Natures Miracle or XO in a steam cleaner? We plan to steam the Costco rug after this is over.
Where in AZ is your niece running her business? We're in Scottsdale. Just found a place up north a bit called, appropriately "Bosco's Biscuits" where I bought a few of the the flavorful treats for my little boy.
She is in Cave Creek. She has her first market stand in a couple of weeks at a shelter adoption fair. The ones she sent were a semi-hard. The girls are so cute, they nibble a little and then go back for more like it's a tea cake. Also, they smelled tempting to me, all peanut buttery, yum!
One more thing I found out about Kennel Cough - if you treat it right away with cough medicine it makes a big difference! Maple still coughs a big one now and then but you'd never know Lucky had it and it's only been 3 days!
I haven't used Natures Miracle in a steam cleaner but there is a review on Epinions about someone using it in that manner with great success. Here is the link:
thanks for the link. we'll give it a try and I'll report back. I've used Natures Miracle for years (dog and cat before these girls too) and never noticed the "stench worse than the urine itself" as it's working, like the writer describes. I'm thinking maybe there were just too many chemicals and deodorizers on the rug before the Natures Miracle.
Geez, that was a lot of terrorizing for one schnauzer!
