Do you closely monitor you dood(s) going out?? I walk out every time cheering them on "GO POTTY!" "GO POTTY!" "GO POTTY!" until the actual "events" occur. And I usually have phenomenal success 2 for 2 or 4 for 4 in my case. But gosh all mighty when Bandy rings the bell or Rosey goes out and DH takes them and he brings them in, I will say "sooo what did they dooo" and he say's "i dunno" they did something! WTD aren't you watching?? Why do you go out there then?? to protect them from Lions, Tigers and Bears? And he says "YES! and dinosaurs, goblins, and ghosts!!" God save the DH!!
Yes, that is one of the nice things about DoodleKisses. You find out just how "normal" you are!! Or at least you have a lot of company in your abnormality!! LOL!
Yep so tonight AGAIN, DH took them out and I am thankful, cuz it is gettin' chilly. And no report but sure enough 15 mins later Bandy is Bangin' the Bells to get out and WALA 30 seconds later a nice healthy poop!!
This is really funny, I thought DH and I were nuts, but I see that we are not alone. Oliver does not ring the bells, (they are on the door), he will go in the laundry room and stand by the door. We do not have a real backyard, we live in a golf community, so either I or Hubby will walk them. I onlly walk them on my property, although there is a great walking area right across the street from us. But a lot of people walk their dogs there and I don't know all the dogs, and wht if they have something wrong with them....But I must say we do have a strict rule here about picking up after the dogs, and everyone really adheres to it. This is a very friendly dog neighborhood for the most part. DH, never minds walking the dogs, he takes them in the morning, I usually handle the rest of the day, and he does the evening and night walk. But since I hurt my knee he has even come home from work at lunchtime to take them out for me...But I too ask did he go? Did he go ok?. what did he do?...And DH knows I want a detailed report, lol...I know that Oliver for the most part will go twice a day, Renny will go everytime if u let him, or he can hold it like Oliver. OLiver is the mayor of our street, he sits on our driveway and waits for people to come by on their golf carts, or cars, or just walking and everyone knows him and stops to talk and pet him...Sometimes he just wants to be outside and sit and people watch. Such a "yenta"...:lol
Maggie needs watching....call her an exhibitionist or something. She can be outside for hours but doesn't go. After coming inside for a few minutes she rings her bells to go out again and I have to wait while she goes. I'm not sure if this is because of the praise thing that we all do when they go. Who would rave about pee and poop if they were outside alone? What makes me nuts is she has to find just the right spot so go. Its only a 15 x 15 fenced area so how much of a search is needed. This can take what seems an eternity especially when its cold outside. BUT, I'm so grateful that she goes OUTSIDE.
Yes...it's seems like most...I closely monitor Sasha in this area too!
I think all Moms are alike...and...our Doods get on a schedule from the very beginning as pups...and they...and we...get use to it! (smile)
It' helps us to know things like...are they "going" regularly...soft or firm...things that are important for us to know...to make sure they are staying healthy.
I have the reputation in our family... for being able to have Sasha "Go On Command"!
Wow...how powerful am I??!!! Lol...
I started that from the very beginning...with telling her....Go potty Sasha...Go potty...and...it really works! Still does!! (smile)
My DH is more like Suzann's...and he seems to think that Sasha doesn't need the "oversight" that I do! Silly Man!!
Try as I do...I just can't seem to get him to see my point of view!! LOL...
I think this is what is all comes down to really! They can't TELL us if they have a tummy ache or don't feel good but poop monitoring is one way that we can get useful information about their health!!
Yep, it's a Mom thing, unless your DH is in touch with his feminine side...:)
