Hi All,
I am taking Savannah and Raleigh for their annual exam next week.  Savannah just turned 3 and Raleigh turned 1 in August.  They both will be getting their annual vaccine boosters (though I have talked with my vet about titers), but I was also wondering when to start getting routine blood work just to be sure everything is ok.  Both dogs are healthy and have no major medical issues (other than Vannah's anal glands).  Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Thanks
becky, vanny, and raleigh

I've never had routine blood work done on any of my dogs, and none of my vets have ever recommended it before a dog got to be elderly or had some type of medical issue. I'm sure you don't need to think about it with a 1 or 3 year old dog unless there is something going on with them.
I would agree. these dogs are young and appear healthy. No need, I think, to get routine blood work.
thanks, sounds good. I figured it may be too soon. Will just go with a good exam and updates on boosters if needed! thank you!
