Has anyone competed in this? What type of dog (in terms of personality) tends to perform the best? How many levels of obedience did you do before you were ready to compete?
I am finding it to be kind of boring..... But I will finish since we started it.... I thik it helps with her focus, which she will need with agility, freestyle whatever we may do in a future.....
OK, now we are into May, we are still doing the Rally O, believe it or not. And I am starting to like it. It really made a difference in obedience, helps Charlie to really focus on me. Especially because she has some issues with new situations, people, dogs, etc... it helps her to sort of overcome them by focusing on me rather than panicing about what is around her.....
CHarlie is going to the APDT trial at the end of November for the first time!! I am more concenred about the leasure time and time in between, than actual performing time.... I just hope that she does not get too worked up with many dogs being there....
18 more days until Charie's first Rally O competition..... Because she is a nervous girl, I have been taking her to the local shopping center everyday on my lunch hour for her to get used to hearing and seeing all different noises and people. I am sure that it will be busy with many people and dogs there.....She is getting better at it, and does not seems to be overly nervous....
Well, I am. Is there any last minute tips for Rally O Competition?
( This is level 1 A)
