Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Does your doodle do the propeller tail wag?  I'm talking about a full circle wag...not the tick-tock motion.

It's Porter's most happy tail expression, and I don't see a lot of other dogs or doodles do it.  I was wondering if it is specific to one of the breeds or just a personality quirk.

Daisy just wags her tail - hard, so look out if you are behind her!
Guinness has this as well, and he's just a Labradoodle. Although Rosco is also a Labradoodle and he does not.
Gus (australian labradoodle) has a mega propeller tail when he's chasing his ball outside. Sometimes I think he's going to fly away!
Nice image :-) I can just imagine a cartoon of Gus floating butt-first into the air.
Okay, let's take this Propeller Tail one step further...does it go clockwise or counterclockwise? And...is it different if you live North of the Equator or South of the Equator? Is it possible that all ALDs would go in the same direction? But then if they are multigen and born in the US would that change? Lots of food for thought, eh?
I will report back with data when the kids return from school :-)
Both directions, with slight favoring of clockwise, northern hemisphere :-)
I think the propeller tail is definitely saved for their most happy moment. When a family member returns or when they have their ball seems to be what everyone is saying. Gracie Doodle's is when she is running down the hill to join her friends she just about lifts off the ground with the propeller going. Also, when she is looking for her tennis ball in the bushes. When she is running for it the tail is straight out. The propeller shows itself when there is total happiness!!!
Count Phoebe in! It is so precious especially when she is doing it for me when I walk in!
When Jasper is really excited he has the cutest propeller tail.
