What is the best site(free) to download music without downloading a virus. I've been there and done that.

Limewire is a very good site. In two years I havent had a problem. You can also upgrade for a small fee. just use common sense and you will be alright! !

After just reading a news article about a woman having to go to jail and pay like $24,000 per song, downloaded from sites like limewire, kazaa etc... I would be afraid of having to leave a doodle while I was in jail for illegally downloading music.

I suggest streaming music from Pandora, LastFM, or Grooveshark.
I don't recommend illegally downloading music . . . If you really want to "own" the music, perhaps check out CDs from your local library and upload the songs you want (which is still not necessarily legal, btw.)
