I'll post new pieces here as I paint them. I hope others will do the same and start their own threads in the Art Cafe! :)

I've had a busy month of painting! I had so much fun painting this one for GBK of her adorable Santa's helper, Kona.

Here's a closeup:

Here's the reference photo I used:

Just beautiful work as always! GBK must be thrilled!
I am F!!!!  Linda came over to the house and taught me a little on photoshop too :)  She is so amazingly generous and kind.  I will be getting CS5 within the next couple of weeks and look forward to more fun......
Oh, wow. I am just installing PSE 9. If I could manage 2% of what that can do I'll be happy. Linda is so helpful to us all and a great editor to emulate.
She has already sent me a link  and told me to "start looking and learning now"  LOL

I just finished a painting for my mother in law of her Yorkie-poo in the arms of my granddaughter, Jenna (her great-granddaughter).

Here's a closeup:

This portrait was challenging to paint because I had to work from two different reference photos:

Now I just have to stretch the canvas and frame it! (I found the PERFECT frame for it!) Looks like I'm going to have it done in time to give it to them tomorrow. WHEW!!!

You are without a doubt AMAZING ...... having such a wonderful talent and being able to share it with those you love is PRICELESS!
What more can be said except ditto!
Thank you, Lucy and F Parker! :)

I got the portrait of Jenna and little Miss Kelly framed.  :)

(For those of you who are in the Photography group with me, sorry for the overlap in these posts.)

Linda, I just took a look at all your paintings.  They are just incredible!  I used to do watercolors from my photos.  I would blow up the photo to the size of the painting I wanted, trace over it and transfer that to the watercolor paper and paint using this as my base.  I love being able to "paint" using the Corel software....it sure is a LOT quicker.  I can see myself getting "addicted" to this.

Thanks! A lot of great artists use that technique. I bought an opaque projector this year and I'm looking forward to experimenting with it.

Corel Painter 11 is SOOOOO MUCH FUN! Omg, totally addicting - hahaha!
