Maizy keeps jumping on my 5 yr olds sons back and tries to take him down. My son is very gentle with her..sometimes too gentle. LOL I told him to stand up when she does that and push her down and tell her No but he just panics and cries because when she does it, she scratches his arms. We just got her this week so her nails haven't been cut yet! She's perfect otherwise and even though she scares Ryan when she does this, he still loves her to pieces. :-) She doesnt do this to my 7 yr old daughter. I guess cuz he's smaller?? and she's trying to dominate him?
Need advice on what to do when she does this....
Thanks in advance!!

In my experience, most large puppies see kids the same way they view littermates. They are playmates to be jumped on, chewed on, chased and played with. I think your being the "leader," you are going to have to do the correcting when Miazy jumps up on your son. A decisive "OFF!" with a loud clap of hands should get her attention and let her know that's against the rules.OR some trainers use the method of leaving a leash on the puppy all the time and when she goes to jump up just step on the leash. OR if she is jumping on an older child or adult, there's another way to correct that.
When you start obedience classes, probably jumping up and loose leash walking will be the two most common problems.
BTW how old is Maizy?
Thanks so much for the quick reply! I figured it was something to do with that since Ryan is a very small 5 yr old. I will definitely try your suggestions. Thanks!!
Maizy is 18 weeks
guess I gotta teach her to sit-lol haven't done that yet.
still having problems..think I'm going to have to do the leash thing.
she is scratching my son up and he usually ends up crying :-( bc she hurts him. I can't ignore the behavior because she'll tear him up. :-o
