Rua is not acting lady like!

I tried to search for info on this issue, but the search features seems to work for names, not discussions.  I don't exactly know how to say this other than to spit it out.  Rua has started humping!  Big time.  With extreme enthusiasm.  It started about 3 or 4 days ago.  I let her have her Petsmart Puppy to play with since she has yet to distroy or "destuff" a toy.  She started dragging it all over and then before I knew it, she started humping the stuffed puppy.  RUA IS A SHE!!!!  It was one of the reasons I got a girl dog.  I didn't want humping, marking, leg lifting, lipstick!

 

She is just 5 months old, has been spayed, I am not sure how to handle this.  Did I mention she does this with extreme enthusiasm.  She literally ends up with the top of her head on the ground (almost like she is going to do a summersault) and goes to town.  I have been tempted to take a video, but I don't think it would be appropriate to post it.  I do have to admit that it causes me to laugh out loud...it is so funny it is hard to be mad, but I would like to put an end to it.

 

Is this just temporary?  Should I interrupt and redirect?  Should I not let her have her Puppy?  Should I get her a room?

Please..do not spread this around the internet...I don't want my little girl to be thought of poorly.  Remember all that you have read...it is just about dominance...this is the only thing she is bigger than.

LOL LOL LOL  You could be talking about my Hunter!!  I tell her she is not supposed to live up to her "boy name".  I had to ask about this when she started doing it as well.  We had to keep my father-in-law's Brittney Spaniel for about 6 weeks when he was ill.  His dog is also female and was about 1 1/2 years old at the time and Hunter was a little over a year.  Hunter would "hump" poor Brittsey relentlessly - I had no idea what was going on!!  I was very relieved to hear it was a dominance issue also.  My DH started calling Hunter "Portia" and Brittsey "Ellen" (Ellen Degeneres & Portia D'Rossi) LOL LOL

LOL  Such a funny post!!  Shelby has a favorite pillow in my daughters room and yep,  you know the rest.  We joke and in fact we all get a kick out of it.  No great suggestions but you just made my day.  GrrDoodle!

I have a naughty girl also....Comiskey will occasionally do this to Beemer.....we call it "hoochie dance"....and when we say "no, hoochie dance"...she stops.....it only happens when they have played a lot and Beemer has gotten the best of the game....

Somehow I think these can be gender specific. Males do the Humpty Dumpty and females do the Hoochie Dance although they may look the same to the untrained eye : )

That made me LOL!  I LOVE the phase "hoochie dance"!  I will start telling Rua no "hoochie dance", and take the "puppy" away!  She was doing it just a little while ago.  I did have to take a video of it...it is too darn funny not to (especially when she ends up on her head).  I will not be posting, though.  I wouldn't want that to come back and bite her later!  LOL
