We just picked up Clarke on Saturday from Christine - he's a 12 week old F1b and adorable!! Unfortunately for the first 2 days he refused to eat much of the dried food Christine sent with him so on the advice of my vet I bought some puppy pouches of meaty food and he loves those (licks the bowl clean!!) but his stomach...not so much!!
What brand / type are you feeding your doodles? Any suggestions?
Thanks for any input,
Sally.

Sally, we have a very last and active group here on DK called The Food Group, where you can get information on everything that has to do with dog food, as well as our extensive list of recommended foods, and every issue associated with feeding our dogs. (Also, the fact that the vet is the last person you should ever take feeding advice from, and why that is.) Please join us.

Most dogs don't have much appetite when they are stressed or going through lots of changes. Leaving the only home you've ever known, along with your mother and your littermates is about the most stressful thing a baby can go through, and that includes baby dogs. Stay with the food Christine sent home; you should not change his food for at least a week or so, and then it needs to be done gradually. This info is in the Food Group also.
PS: I feed Orijen
We have a two year old mini that we got from Christine and have kept him on the Pinnacle Trout and Sweet Potato dry food that Christine sent us home with. He is really healthy and fit. He has never quickly "gobbled" up his food, but has always slowly picked at it. We were worried at first about his lack of interest in his food, but are now glad that we stayed with it.
I am wondering if Clarke is one of the beautiful black males that were born the day right after Oscar? We brought Oscar home on November the 19th and he refused to eat the food as well. He went the entire first day and 1/2 without eating it and when I talked to the vet she said it was probably because of all of the excitement. She told me if I wanted to try something else with him to see if it was just a matter of him not liking it I could. I went originally with the ProPlan Large breed puppy and as soon as I set the bowl down he acted like he was STARVING to death. He has been eating that fine ever since. I am looking to switch him to something that is supposed to be more healthy for him now that I have researched things further. The best brand is supposed to be Orijen but it is a bit out of our price range, so I am looking for something that is high quality but not too high priced... I tried using the pieces of food that she had sent home as training treats since I had went out and bought a bag of it before I brought him home and he wouldn't eat them either. He just did not like it. I tried mixing the two at first like you should do and the little booger picked out only the proplan pieces! I have heard from a few other doodle owners that their doodes are picky eaters? Oscar is picky when it comes to food but will still try to eat the front porch steps?!?! I recently picked up some large breed puppy gold Fromm samples and he loves them so I am probably switching him to that over the next few weeks...
