Am I Normal????

I have been told recently that "Normal" people do not have Birthday parties for their dogs.  As I am sitting here painting paw prints on party favor bags for Murphy's birthday party next Sunday I am wondering.....Is this true?  Am I not normal?  I would love to hear about birthday parties for doodles and see pictures if anyone has any.  Having a party for Murphy's First Birthday seems quite normal to me :)  I think he is pretty excited about it too!

Yes, April....you ARE a LUNATIC!  I aspire to be a lunatic myself....right now I'm just "abnormal", but I have hope that I'll get there eventually.  This video is just amazing!!!!!

I am not normal either - this picture was from Samantha's 1st Birthday and the 1st of 2 parties she had - one on the beach in NJ with her favorite doodle friend and the other was more intimate dinner with only Beau Beau in a lovely French restaurant in Bal Harbour, FL. 

I will take the crazy life any day over normal!!

I can't imagine NOT having a birthday party for Rua's first birthday next year.  In fact, I already have plans to get her 12 month photo taken with a photography studio.  I think I have to agree a bit with Jane & Jane...DKer's are a bit over the top and normal is overrated.  I am so glad I am part of this.

 

I'll have to remember the paw prints on party favor bags...cool idea!

If this is not normal, I think it should be the new normal.  My mother always said that people who did not like or have compassion for animals were probably not the kind of people she would like to know.  I think people who are kind and compassionate to animals are also more kind and compassionate to other people. We will continue to celebrate the birthday's of our pets.  They are are an important part of our family.

My mother now has alzheimers and does not always remember to be kind to and that she loves her children but she is still always kind and loving to an animal. It seems it makes her more calm to pet and hold a dog.

Cute...cute...cute.  I love the sign me birthday puppy.  That just gave me an idea for Rua's party.  I am going to buy a mat for everyone to sign and use it to frame her 12 month picture!
