Let me start by saying I HATE cutting Hunter's nails.  I am always afraid I am going to cut them to short so normally I leave them longer.  This morning I was cutting one of her back nails and just when I went to cut she moved - normally she sits totally still - and I cut it to short and it started to bleed.  I have never cut them to short before to see them bleed!  This was early this morning, I put this Quick Blood Stopped on it and it seemed ok.  Now she just came in from outside and its bleeding again :-(  Is this normal?  It seems like a lot of bleeding!  I feel sooooooooo bad.  It doesn't seem to be bothering her at all - just me!  Any advise?

Have a glass of wine and take a deep breath.....just kidding.  I cut Taquito's too short one time and felt TERRIBLE.  Going outside did make it bleed again, but stopped after that last bout.

I will be interested to here what others suggest.

I posted on how to stop the bleeding, but didn't realize you'd already used the Quick Stop.
There probably wasn't a solid clot formed yet when she went outside. Here's the info on how to get a clot to form:
Once you put on the powder, apply pressure on the bottom of the nail to clog up the nail and reduce the blood flow. This will require you to actually hold the nail for a few minutes. Wrap the foot in a soft towel allowing the nail to not touch anything and the blood to clot up and stop bleeding.
Hope it stops soon!
Ok off to try it!  Sniff sniff and to drink a glass of wine for being a terrible doddle mom :-(
Denise you are my kind of lady drinking wine in them middle of the afternoon:)
Ha ha!  : )
Maybe we should all have a glass of wine......doodle bonding.    This happened to Banjo a couple months back....(at the hands of his bad Mom)....and I ended up having to tape a sock to his foot every time he went outside.   It worked out fine.   He'll be good as new in no time!    Sip.......

I like it Carol!!  We could have a new group, wine drinking DK'ers   And we could have Happy Hour!

I have to say I have NEVER cut any nails, I am way to chicken!!

I don't cut Peri's....she gets them done while being groomed. I do Tacky's though!  I have to have DH hold him while I cut them....

Wine time will be here soon ladies.  I am partaking in this activity tonight with my best girl friends.  Yummy.....

Wine Drinking DKer's I like it!!!!!  In stressful situations there isn't an hour to early for a glass of wine.  Hey red is healthy right?!

I think red is even healthier when paired with dark chocolate!
Ummmm.....red wine (my favorite) with a chocolate "chaser"....perfect!  Okay, will Adina let us start this group??????

I don't see why not. If there can be garden clubs and recipes for people clubs, why can't there be a wine fancier's club?

Reds are my favorites, too. I had a wonderful Chilean Pinot on my birthday. I would love to get tips on good reasonably priced reds from other wine afficionadoes!
