What a lovely surprise! The Hopeless Doodle Addict Award arrived here in Montclair, New Jersey last week along with some amazing goodies from Jane, Guinness & Murphy!
With their usual enthusiasm when it comes to opening bags and packages in hopes of finding something, ANYTHING that might be for them, Blake & Bella helped me to open the box and the two nosiest doodles in the world proceeded to rummage through it's contents.
Blake found (of course) a ball; an adorable green and white soft, squishy ball that pays tribute to the Emerald Isle. He immediately claimed it as his own kicking up his heels and exclaiming in his best Irish brogue "Manly yes and I Iike I it too!" ..... A few moments in his mouth is all it took for him to decide it was magically delicious .....
When Bella tried to take it from him he growled, turned to me with pleading eyes that cried " Help Mom!...She's after me Lucky Charms!" He was just about to high tail it to the nearest corner for some "alone time" with his prize when he saw me pull an entire set of brand new tennis balls from the box! I don't think I have ever seen his eyes so wide! He spent the next hour trying to open the Christmas tree shaped package with his teeth and paws.
Bella continued her rummaging until she found a squeaker desperately in need of squeaking. Imagine her surprise when there was not one but TWO plush toys complete with squeakers! And of course she proceeded to do just that...for HOURS..... First to be squeaked incessantly was the adorable snowman but she quickly settled on the fat fuzzy hedgehog as her personal favorite.
The big bag of peanut butter Zukes went completely ignored as plush toys are the big high value item of choice to my crazy doods....But they happily partook in a feast of Zukified sustenance later that evening.
Thank you Jane for the adorable and thoughtful gifts! They were a tremendous hit!...But you knew that already...lol.....Love you girlfriend!
Thank you Adina for this wonderful site! I am so proud to be part of the DK family pretty much since it began way back when! I have some amazing friends, rescue colleagues and family thanks to this incredible community! Without DK I would never have known Karen & Jack and there would be no DRC! .... Thank you all for years of fun, laughs, the sharing of knowledge, experiences, emotions, opinions.....Thank you for your continuing friendship and support both of me personally and the DRC organization.
I am honored to be amongst the great Hopeless Doodle Addicts that came before me and those who will follow!

Wow, I can't believe I missed this! Congratulations Jacquie, welcome to the HDA club! I'm glad to see you've finally received the trophy, you deserve it. The pictures you posted are great and you still look great at 3:00 AM. (I can guarantee no one wants to see a photo of me at that time of the morning!) Blake looks pretty tuckered out in the last photo, must have been all of the excitement, but you and Bella look great.
I just want to say I admire all that you do for so many doodles in need and thank you for allowing me to be a part of the DRC. It's been a wonderful experience!
Hmmm, it the background of your photos I see a couple baskets of toys AND they look like they're in great shape. At least I know when we come to visit you Sheba and Duke will have something to do. (They made themselves at home at Karen's and dove right in to Jack's toy box!) Speaking of Karen, maybe I should swing by her place, kidnap her and Jack and head your way!
