Grooming Tub

[Laurie, Fudge, and Vern]

With all this snow, we are having to put Vern and Fudge in the tub to get all the snowballs off of them. Yesterday, we went to the doggie wash and it was wonderful. No bending over, no stooping, no lifting and I want to get the same set up for home. I know there have been discussions about this, but can anyone recommend a good tub and place to buy it? Thanks!

We have about the same problem. Except when the snow melts his feet and legs get really dirty. We have been putting a bucket of warm water in the kitchen and dipping one leg at a time. He has also had snow balls stuck to his fur and we use a warm wet towel to melt them. On Friday we took him to a (I don't know if I can name the place on here) wash them yourself place. Loved it! They have tubs they can walk into and they supply everything. Great experience. As for buying a tub for him I don't know where you wool put one. I think I would like an outdoor shower.

I tried a hair dryer tonight and Fudge ran away and stood in the doorway looking at me like she could not believe I did that. It is just constant in the winter and then in the summer, I am going to have two muddy dogs every day since our yard is minus most of the grass (thank you, Vern). We have a big double sink in our laundry room, but it has a built in divider and won't work. We are going to look at Home Depot and see what we could replace it with. Thanks.

My big double laundry sink works just fine.  The big dog puts his front feet in the right side and his back feet in the left side.  He even knows how to turn around and I wash one side at a time.  It helps to have a sprayer so you don't get as much water on the floor. (We have concrete floors in the laundry room.)  After his bath he steps up onto the countertop and we squeeze him dry with Shamwows and then he shakes.  He gets blown dry, and that takes longer than his bath.

The little dog (8-month old ALD) gets washed in one side of the sink.   He is very used to the hair dryer and will stand for a drying, but we don't use it on him.  Just the Shamwows seem to work fine and he shakes and runs outside to run dry and wipe on his bed.  We want to do cording with his coat so hair drying is not recommended.  Start them with hair dryers as soon as you can.  I always take a couple of shots at the dogs when I am drying my own hair any they think it is funny.
