Have any of  you  ever heard of, or participated in this event?  Any teachers out there who had students with entries?

We should have a romp next year for the event on  July 24th.  If not a romp, just have our own little event right here on DK.  Record your doodles life for that day. Of course edited.  Six 1 hour naps might be edited into six, 5- second shots.

Life In A Doodle Day.  What do you think?

In 2011, Life In A Day will be released as a documentary from over 80,000 clips entered at

The Story of A Single Day On Earth

Life In A Day is a historic global experiment to create a user-generated feature film shot in a single day. On July 24, you have 24 hours to capture a glimpse of your life on camera. The most compelling and distinctive footage will be edited into a feature film, produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Macdonald.

My cousin-in-law has a camera attached to his head as a base jumper.   It might as well be his third ear, it is always there.

I really want to put a camera on Spud's head and see what he sees all day.  Interesting.

Such a cool idea Joanne! I'd love to do the same thing with Bernie. I think it would be extra interesting to take him downtown Seattle (we live in Tacoma) and let him walk me around. Give him free reign to choose our route, what interests him, where he'd want to take a break, who he'd want to 'talk to', etc. Very intriguing concept indeed!
Yes!  Exactly.  Oh Amy I hope you do this with me.   I was giving this some thought.  Maybe we could attach a cellphone to the collar?   Your idea sounds wonderful.   At least then we could get it from their eye view.  If not, at least let everyone make up a way to record A Day In A Dogs Life
We should figure out a do-able way to record then we may get more people on board? A cell phone is a very good idea! Bernie is used to wearing a backpack with a harness design (chest strap) and I'm thinking I could make this a fun project for the DH, see if he can construct a set up using the backpack for stability. I would love to see what Bernie would want to do downtown - if we did his "usual" day too much of the video would be of me working...
Joanne I have a couple of my geeky friends brainstorming re: recording options, including devices, how to deal with the battery, mounting, etc. I'll share any good feedback I get!

GREAT!  We discussed it tonight at dinner.  DH didn't go that far with me. I really think he may think I've lost it but I think we have a good doodle project in the making.

I can't wait to see Seattle.  To see it from a doodle's eyes is going to be special.

Come to think about it, you LIVE with the greatest of the Geeks  in the entire US, out there in Seattle area!  Oh this is going to be good.
Exactly! My head Geek works at a popular internet conglomerate...starts with a G...but I don't want to break any rules of the contest so I'll leave it at that ;) Happy to share my insider info!
I know what you're talking about! It's Yahoo!
Ha!

I'm doing a few trail runs today.  The iphone does seem to attach to his collar. I just need to get him used the feeling.  He wants to bite the phone.

With Starlit, she just lies down and rolls over when you do anything like this to her.     Ha, an upside down picture might be funny and really, it is just what a dog sees in Life in a Day, for them.

Excellent! That's so funny, Bernie would bite it too. We have a flip cam, but unless my DH follows me around with the laptop all day only filming a couple hours at a time will be tedious! Although I suppose with the proper editing...I could always throw the ol macbook in a backpack and just know that's how it will need to be done! There's plenty of Starbucks downtown with free wifi =)
