I am starting to feel like Banjo in Carol's recent post about cabin fever.  Maybe the weather has finally caused me to snap, because tonight I opened my kitchen drawer that holds all my dish towels and there was dog food everywhere. It was all throughout the drawer. I called my husband in to look (because I usually blame him first) and he had no idea either what happened. Now, I can assure you I did not take the dog's expensive Fromm food and throw it in my towel drawer, so what happened? Was I sleep walking? Did Vern or Fudge learn to open drawers and wanted to stash some food away for a rainy day? Is my husband pretending we are in the movie Gaslight and trying to drive me insane?  This is a mystery to me.

Oh yes, I agree. Stopped doing bird food yeas ago because of this. Now I just plant things, far from the house with seeds or berries.
I just got bird food last week for the first time this winter...that will teach me to be kind to birds :) Love the sunflowers.

Another thing, I empty my dog food bags out into a sealed bin like you do but the reason I do it is because I want to inspect what, if anything, is inside. I only got mice once, and the whole little family came in and OUT with that bag.

P.S.  empty the bag but always save the lot number on the label until the food is gone.  I learned that by mistake.

Ummm... unfortunately it sounds like perhaps you may have 'little critters'??? Do you think perhaps you may have mice?  Did you see any droppings anywhere?  Mice do carry food to places..... boy, bet you're thinking right about now that  you'd rather be losing your mind.  I hope you find out that it is NOT mice (that would really freak me out! - been there - done that!)  I'll be watching!
That is what confused me...there were NO mice droppings in that drawer...not one. Maybe I have a potty trained mouse?? I know you are another Monk, so I know you feel my pain :)

Do the dogs seem really hungry tonight? Who's turn was it to feed them? I know we are about the same age and sometimes I just wonder what I'm doing.;-) The other day I got a baggie out of the drawer and opened it up and put it on the counter and I still can't figure out what I wanted to put in it..just saying..it might not be mice.;-)

Kathy, I hear you on the losing track of what I am doing daily. I spend a lot of time looking for my keys and glasses and drove all the way to Gettysburg and back with two doggie poop bags on top of my car. Thank you for hoping it was just some mental pauses, but I think it was mice. The joys of living in the country.
Yikes!  Surveillance cameras sound good to me.  Maybe someone is "sleepwalking"?
Sally, Did you name your poodle yet?? I am thinking about that too.
Not quite, but we are considering Mozart.  Mitzi and Mozart, hmmmm, maybe not, might end up calling him Mo.  LOL!  No, Mo!
I like Mozart. My daughter has a French Bulldog name Bonzai and the only thing we shorten that to is Bonzie. Keep us posted!
I have no clue, but the "mice" thing is freaking me out!
