A Fromm Mystery...Have I Lost My Mind?

I am starting to feel like Banjo in Carol's recent post about cabin fever.  Maybe the weather has finally caused me to snap, because tonight I opened my kitchen drawer that holds all my dish towels and there was dog food everywhere. It was all throughout the drawer. I called my husband in to look (because I usually blame him first) and he had no idea either what happened. Now, I can assure you I did not take the dog's expensive Fromm food and throw it in my towel drawer, so what happened? Was I sleep walking? Did Vern or Fudge learn to open drawers and wanted to stash some food away for a rainy day? Is my husband pretending we are in the movie Gaslight and trying to drive me insane?  This is a mystery to me.

Me too....my family calls me Monk, so this is not a good thing.

I'm placing my bet it is indeed mice.  When we bought/moved into our house it was November.  Oh boy!  The mice had gotten a nice foothold on their territory.  They can indeed carry two cups of food away.  I found the dog food down the hall in the closet, inside my vacuum attachment, inside coat pockets and hoods, under the couch cushions, inside the dish towel drawer, inside the snack drawer.  I started putting everything in plastic containers, the towels, the snacks, the dog food.  We now have sealed bait traps everywhere, and this year only one encounter.  They claim a mouse can enter thru an opening smaller than the head on a pencil eraser, and/or thin as a dime!  I had a friend whose husband worked night shift.  One time the entire candy dish of Hershey Kisses disappeared over night.  She was very put out that he would eat an entire bag.  He denied it to the end.  Guess where they turned up?  In the dish towel drawer!  LOL

Oh, I would be livid if that darn mouse took my Hershey kisses. Thank god, it was only dog food :)

But maybe chocolate is toxic to mice too. That would have been an easy solution.

That is SO bizarre!  And I had never known mice do this kind of mass food moving until reading the responses.  Very interesting and creepy!

I didn't know they did it either, but I think I do now. Creepy, for sure. Why can't it be like the Cinderella movie and the mice are doing cleaning, sewing, etc. while we are sleeping instead of messing with my expensive dog food?

Gremlins I say, the same gremlins that put Rosie up on that table and the same grelims that took my book of dog tricks that I need to find so we can learn a trick for Doodle Idol.

i tnink it was gremlins that put Rosie on the table. but the rest however, I'm guessing it was the mice!

My husband set a trap last night and had strict orders to check it this morning.  He left for work before I got up and I was afraid to ask if we caught a little dog food thief or not. I am telling myself any unwanted guest went next door to the neighbor's house.
