Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi,

I would like to adopt a golden doodle from Almond Blossom Doodles, since I've read such great reviews on this website, but they have not responded to my e-mails.  My husband and I have sent 6 e-mails over the past two to three months from two different accounts.

Is there a better way to reach them?  Is there a phone number where they can be reached?

My husband and I have gmail accounts and I'm afraid that maybe their webmail does not accept gmail messages.

It's very strange and frustrating.

Thank you ahead of time for your help!

Eva

HI Eva,

I don't think that they give out their phone number. Is it possible that their reponse is getting caught in you junk email? That being said it took them awhile sometimes to get back to us when we emailed them. I'd keep trying and maybe try contacting some other breeders in the meantime. Good luck!

Hi Jill and Bodie,

Yes, I checked the junk mail folder when I initially didn't hear back, but didn't find anything there.

I will keep trying to contact them.

Thank You,

Eva

Hi Eva, I think I have Shelly's number. I'll look for it and send it to you in a PM.

Hi Linda,

Thank you - that would be really great!

Best,

Eva

I have had the same experience with waiting a long time for replies. However, they must be checking emails at some point this week because I am one of the group picking up a medium size puppy on Saturday and they have not sent out emails with their exact address yet. I assume I am not the only one who doesn't know where they live. Have you noticed on their website that they still have standard F1 puppies available to go home this Sunday?
Good luck,
Karin

Hi Karin,

Thanks for sharing your experience - I imagine they're very busy at Almond Blossom - they probably just didn't see my e-mails.

Yes, I did notice that there are three puppies currently, so you must be one of the lucky parents who will be picking up these adorable guys!

Hi Eva

I hope you already got Shelly's number from Linda, if not, I have her number too. They're always really slow (or maybe forgot) replying emails.

I have a F1 cream color from Tula/Micah from 2009, and now I'm getting another one from them but a darker color this time.

I have no idea that Lily/Casey is going to have a litter soon.

I know that for F1 litters, Tula/Micah's puppies are ready for pickup this week, Katie/Micah's will be ready in Summer, and around the same time (or after) it'll be Anja/Casey's, (which I am hoping to get one from).

Thanks for all your responses.  I contacted Almond Blossom using this e-mail address:

twosisters@almondblossompoodles.com

My first e-mail to them was on 12/30/2010 and they responded on 1/4/2011 with information about an upcoming litter with Lily/Casey.  They said puppies from the Lily/Casey litter would be available in March and that a pregnancy check would be performed in January to make sure the pregnancy had taken hold.

I responded to this e-mail on 1/9/2011, but heard no response.  Then I sent another e-mail on 1/11/2011 and another one on 1/14/2011.

My husband who was cc'd on the messages then sent a follow up message from his e-mail account on 1/18/2011 and I just sent another e-mail on 2/12/2011.

We discovered Almond Blossom a year ago and fell in love with the idea of having a pup from Lily/Casey.  We contacted them on 4/4/10 and they were very responsive, but we eventually decided against it because we were living in an apartment and decided that we wanted to wait until we had a home with a yard before getting a dog - it just didn't seem fair to the dog to have him cooped up in an apartment.  But we just had an offer accepted on a house and assuming all goes well, we should have the keys in hand on March 11.  We are really hoping to get a curly-haired boy from the upcoming Lily/Casey litter.  My husband has some allergies to dogs (runy nose and itchy eyes - hay fever), but he has been fine around all the curly-haired labradoodle and golden doodles we have run into.

I don't know if you are in e-mail or phone contact with the Shelly, but if you could please bring my attempts to contact her to her attention - I would very much appreciate this.

Here is a copy of most of my e-mail correspondence pasted below (most recent conversations first).  I have removed some personal information including my phone number, but other than that, the conversations are verbatim.  I included them because it might be helpful for you to send them to almond blossom, so that they can search their e-mail for these messages to determine whether they received them or whether the messages were somehow blocked by a spam trapper.  I'm not sure why our e-mails would be trapped by a spam blocker, but I can't imagine why else this would happen.

Thank You!  We very much appreciate this.

Hi Shelly and Julie,

I e-mailed you twice this past week - so sorry for the multiple
e-mails, but I just want to make sure that we're on the wait list for
the Lily/Casey litter, please.

We want to get a puppy this Spring and if there aren't any more spots
in the Lily/Casey litter then we need to start looking around at other
options.

Thank You!  We are so, so, so excited to finally get a puppy.  We're
especially excited that it could be from Lilly/Casey!

Take Care,
Eva and Spencer

Hi Shelly and Julie,

I just wanted to check in and make sure my e-mail hadn't slipped by
you.  We are very interested in the litter by Lily and Casey.

I just wanted to confirm that you added us to your wait-list.  Is
there anything else that we need to do?

Has the litter been confirmed yet?  When will the puppies be born?
When will they be ready do go home?  We are very excited.

Thank You!

Hi Eva...welcome. I have 2-1/2 yo Lucca from Tula/Micha's litter and 4 1/2 month old Izzy from Estee/Casey's litter. Love love love them. I would send her a VM. I am truly surprised that they haven't responded. Especially that you told them you wanted to be placed on the list:(  I'm sorry you have had to go through this. It's hard enough to wait the 8 weeks and has to be so frustrating when you KNOW you want a pup but can't get in touch with them.

Although our dogs are wonderful there are many good breeders out there. Check out ____________ in So Cal . Liza (Kachi) (who started the ABD) got Halle from there and she is very happy with her.

Good luck to you and keep us posted. Hopefully you will be bringing home a  cute little teething peeing bundle of absolutely wonderful joy very soon:)

Eva...I just sent them an email with the excuse I was giving them an update on Izzy and her sibs. I also included your email address and told her you have been trying to contact her.

I don't know if it will help but it can't hurt:)

Hi Carla, Lucca, and Izzy,

Thank you so much for helping me get in contact with Almond Blossom!

And thank you everyone for being so supportive - I feel so lucky to have found this online community.

Julie responded and it looks like the pregnancy didn't take, so we will be continuing our search for our soon-to-be furry family member.

Thank You,

Eva and Spencer

Eva

Sorry to hear that. This is another breeder I contacted before I got Izzy. Nicole and Max are on DK. Max is from there and he's a great dog ...and beautiful. _____________ It says LD's but she also has GD's. She didn't have any available when I was looking. We met Max last year at Foster City Dog Park. We hang out there or at SealPoint in San Mateo.
