As I read these, it seems that there are more "supposed to have been" minis who grew a lot than minis. I guess that we just get what we get. I am pretty sure Ned is a mini who will stay one. He weighs about 20 pounds and is 6 months old today. We went to our first doodle get together on Saturday and we also met several "supposed to have been mini" doodles. Ned was the smallest doodle there and ended up making friends with a small poodle. I think he enjoyed being the bigger dog for a change.
So far I have not noticed much, but I'm not expecting I will. I have a large and a medium, but they have the same mothers. So far they have different habits and one is more loveable than the other, but for the most part they are both well behaved and love each other...other dogs and people all alike!! My medium is still very young though... I'm sure I'll see as he grows older. I'm so anxiuos to see!!!

Wow, it's so interesting to hear the various personality types of mini doodles. Our Lucy is only 15 lbs. but has the personality of a Lab! She's very sweet, funny and goofy - not at all yappy or bearing the stereotypical small dog characteristics. For this I am truly grateful ;-))
I had a standard doodle (75 pounds, F1) she was the most quiet and trainable dog I have ever had! I now have a medium doodle (32 pounds, multigen) she is much louder barks, whines, etc. Not sure if it's size or personality!

I find this with my 33 lb multigen Kona too! She barks at things she doesn't understand, whines when she can't get to a ball, or if the door is closed between her and I. She is extremely smart and her training is going exeptionally well as she is so attentive to me (and the treat in my hand LOL).
Our mini (Marley) while a little quicker to bark (and keep it up for a bit), and a little slower to train than our standard, is calmer as a puppy than Ziggy. Ziggy was more like a lab or golden puppy in terms of energy. Marley has more calm, cuddly times. They are different, probably for many reasons, but equally loveable!
I have 3 min's 1 med & 1 standard all from different breedersand they are all pretty calm and all bark the same....nothing major not yippie like my poodles
