Hello there! I have a friend that has a shih tzu that has that same problem. There is a product called "Angel Eyes" that is an additive to thier food, its very pricy but it works GREAT! Also, make sure you are feeding a food that doesn't have any dye in it has it works its way through the system and out the tear ducts. Hope that helps!

Ken and Susan are right, its the red dyes in the food that cause the tear staining... Good luck!

I tried a different food that was slightly cheaper and in hindsight Spunky's eyes did get a bit worse. I have now gone back to the good stuff and have noticed that not only have her eyes are improvedbut there is not so much poop to clean up. Thank you for the advise.

Thanks everybody for the help. Ive been using Diamond Eyes and am about to Google Angel Eyes.
