my "X" worked nearly 24/7, so I found an interest, showing and raising standard and miniature poodles. ( he actually liked the dogs) but as the years went by he started working less hours, but I still had to do the chores, and all that was involved with the dogs. He would start to complain about having too many dogs, and we couldn't go any place or do anything. So when he got going on this subject, I would start suggesting that we find homes for them, and as I suggested each dog, he had a reason why we should keep it, I would raise my hands, shrug my shoulders and give him one of those "looks" and ask what his problem was then?
He moved on to a home with fewer dogs (well there was one there that was 2 legged) and later asked if he could have 3 of my four legged dogs, go figure.....

My ex was sooo jealous of Blake!...lol. He used to say things like "That dog is way too close to you..", You ( meaning me) should have a kid or get some other hobby"..." Does he have to come everywhere with us?"..." Did you have a life before that dog?"...."He's way too spoiled.."...." He's a dog not a person.." etc. etc. Screw him...He's a cat person anyway so we were doomed from the start...lol
LOL!....I agree....Inspite of all of my men experience throughout my lifetime, you can take what I know and have learned about them, put it on the end of a pin and still have room for the Encyclopedia Britannica!....Dogs are so much easier to figure out...

My ex loves my doodle so much he always offers to take him when I go on vacation. He cried when he had to bring him back. My son wonders why his dad is so crazy about the dog! It is interesting that he has been more involved with this puppy than he has been with his son. But he has changed in the past few years and is better in many ways, he never used to like animals at all and would never have "allowed" me to have three big dogs! Now he is crazy about doodles and a dog lover - what a change.
"allowed"....hmmmm
Exactly - total control freak - that is why he is my ex! Now I can only be around him for a few minutes without him driving me crazy - thank goodness I am single and have been for over eight years.
I met my X before my encounter with this wonderful being we have come to know as doodles. When I met him I had a dog, 2 cats and 6 birds (always an animal lover). I needed to place most of them for the privilege of moving in with him ~ Love is blind ~ NEVER again, my doodle babies do not require conditions met for unconditional love. I think it really urks him that my children share this passion with me and he is quick to make negative comments, but they come by it honestly and they definitely are their mother's children in this regard.

Hmmm, in May of 2001 I lost a freeing 185 lbs in one day, in the future they just will have to be accepting of our furry family members, otherwise they do not even make the list! Never settle ladies... I have learned this lesson well.
I told my ex.."look "honey"..lol if i'm forced to choose, the dog wins EVERYTIME!!! so don't put me in that position..You'll be very disappointed.."....lol.....
I would never give up my wonderful dogs for a relationship - we gave up our cat because my husband gave me an ultimatum - if you get rid of the cat we can move to another house. I finally gave in to him when our baby was diagnosed with asthma and the doctor told me we shouldn't have any animals, even though the cat never seemed to cause any problems with the baby (who is almost eighteen now and has grown out of his asthma - the only reaction he has to dogs now is to Shar peis - he gets welts all over his face when he is around them for even a minute - very strange) I regret the decision to give up our sweet cat Booboo. If I knew then what I know now about how things would turn out I would have sent my husband packing and moved myself, cat and all! Instead I wasted at least three more years with him.
I had to give it to you Ann.....It was too perdect for your discussion...lol
