Horrible mobile groomer visit

Well, even though I usually try to groom Buddy myself, I was running out of time to do it so I thought I would give a mobile pet groomer a try.  I visited the website and it seemed to be a great thing.  Well, we told her what we wanted and I am in tears as I write this.

 

Buddy no longer looks like Buddy.  His coat is too short (which I told her when she brought him back).  Yes I did pay.  I think I was in shock and just wanted her gone.  After she left I started looking at him closely and the cut (shave) is VERY uneven all over his body.  The hair on his face is uneven.  It is short on one side and longer on the other.  She was supposed to grind the nails and told me that she did, but after looking at them and the scratches on my arms it was obvious that she cut them instead!   

 

I am just sick to my stomach and just wish I could take it all back.    As I am just too upset to talk to someone on the phone, I found a corporate email address and sent them a very strongly worded email, for whatever that is worth.

 

Sorry all, just had to vent.  I know the hair will grow back and I know I am not the first person on here to have a bad experience but I just needed to share.  Thanks for listening.

Ok so I took a couple of pictures.  I know it will grow back, but lesson learned!

 

You can see in this one the hair by his eyes is longer on his left than his right. Same with his chin.

Poor thing hardly has any hair...his legs look so tiny.

Thanks!  He just looks so different then he did before.  I know by tomorrow I will be ok with it.

That's what I hated - the skinny legs! It shows the groomer did not know the doodle look.

 

...besides that....I think he looks adorable! His face looks great! When you get over the initial shock - you will love only having to groom his tail...5 minute grooming - woohoo!!!

Yes the skinny legs.  He face isn't too bad.  It is hard to tell from the photos, but the left side is longer.  I will even that up tomorrow.  He was just so fluffy before and now he seems bald.  I know it will get better...guess I am still in shock!

He looks just like my Jack.. I think he is adorable, Jacks legs look like that right now but that is because I made a boo boo while grooming him, in fact, his are way worse because it is half grown in and half short, fear not hair grows fast

He's got such a cute face!  Once it evens out a bit, he'll look great.  And, like you said, it will grow back.

While Buddy could never look anything but adorable I have to agree that this groomer has no clue what she was doing. I've had haircuts that made me want to cry too and luckily it does grow back. Bright side no brushing for a while. It is experiences like this that have driven many to do their own grooming.

Oh Buddy!! WTD!!!  That groomer should have her license jerked!! If she even has one!! She has zero skill that I can see!!!  I can't get over the little LEGS either!!  I agree with you TOTALLY. I would be SOOO ticked off!! And it IS so shocking and frustrating!!!

Fortunately, he is the SAME little Buddy on the inside!!  That is what got me through the bad grooming episodes!! Tara was still just as happy as a bug!!  I couldn't help but be happy too!  (Once I got over the shock!). Buddy will help you through this too!!

One of our doods was shaved the first time he went to a groomer, it was such a shock.  I used to spend up to three hours at a time, at least twice a week,  brushing and combing him, so I know he was not matted.  A lot of groomers are just too lazy to do a proper job on them.  I do my own clipping now.  But, once you are over the shock, enjoy how beautifully soft and velvety his new short coat is, and how much more time you get to have with him for the fun stuff, because now you won't have to spend hours grooming him every week!!

I am so sorry.  It really seems like it shouldn't be so hard to find a groomer that knows how to cut, bath, etc. but it just is.
