It has been kind of a sad week with the loss of Moses.  Well I have some really wonderful news to end our week.  I got an update today from Judy (Midnight's new Mom), and Midnight is doing GREAT!  Here's what she had to say...."Midnight will go to the NC State Veterinary Hospital in Raleigh for his three month checkup on March 16th.  He is doing great.  What a joy to see him run with no apparent pain.  Some days I cannot keep up with him on the bike trail at the park - he has the most wonderful time running to catch up with me (I'm walking but he has to smell everything) or if he is running ahead, he looks very impatient when he stops to look back and wait for me.  It is wonderful to see him so very happy.  He's great with the kitties and loves even the teeniest dogs.  He gets to meet lots of dogs at the park. Every time I try to get his picture, he moves, but he loves the camera and all the attention.  Promise to work harder at getting new pix.  I should get some video too because his joy is indescribable.  I'm giving him the Previcox only every other day now (for pain and inflammation).  He's such a good boy, but he will still steal his treats from the front seat or eat the cat's food if he can get it.  He would love to have another dog, but I want to wait until after his check-up to see if any more surgery is recommended.  They have been leaning toward not doing another entire hip replacement, and I would hate to see him go through that again."

So, have you been wondering about the "Midnight Blanket" contest winner?  We never received any response to our emails to the winner.  We have all been trying to contact her for months.  So now, Michele has volunteered to make the blanket for Midnight.  I feel badly that we never heard from the winner, but on the other hand it feels right that "our boy" will have his own blanket.   Michele, thank you so much again from all of us.

Remember how much pain Midnight was in...and now he's playing, and running and loving life.  That's because of the generosity of all of you and the devotion of Judy, his new Mom!  Happy Weekend...I think we all needed a little good news!

I am soooo happy to hear about his progress. He is one of the lucky dogs!!
I am thrilled to hear that Midnight and Daisy are doing so well.
So good to hear that Midnight is doing great. My boys still wear their bandanas with pride.
