Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

My husband and I have been talking about getting a labradoodle for a couple years now. My husband has always had dogs so he is fine, but I havnt and I have several questions/concerns.

We have a cat-she is mute and has no front claws (mute comes from the breed), she is older and quite spoiled. I have had her for 7 years so she had definitely had the the run of the house. How do your doodles do with cats? If she could protect herself it would be different. I am just a little nervous.

The dog we are thinking about getting is already 8 months old and crate trained. Will this make the transition easier?

Both my husband and I have allergies, will an F1 be ok for that?

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If you have allergies, depending on severity, I would AVOID an F1...but if your allergies tolerate cats then go meet the dog, pet it, let it lick you and if yOu dont have an allergic response...EXCELLENT!

I'd want a younger puppy if i had a cat so it would grow up with kitty...but depending on the personality of the dog in question it might be fine. just set the bounderies RIGHT AWAY. just my thoughts tho i dont have a cat.
