Well Rufus was just neutered today. He seems so spacey he keeps pacing and staring  he has the cone on I just get nervous he is going tear them open hopefully he heels quick

That seems very normal to me.  Cody was very spacey when he got home too.  It was from the anesthesia.  He will be more like himself tomorrow.  If he has the cone on it will be difficult for him to get to the stitches.  The hardest part is having to leave the cone on for at least a week.  Hope he feels better soon.

Thanks I know I have a small house so he keeps backing up and redoing his walk and when I take off the cooler for him to eat I left it off for a bit and I watched him but he started to go for the stiches so I put it right back on him  he does not want to lay down to much  the doc gave him pain for two days hope that's enough  :( thanks

there are other options to the cone, if it gets too uncomfortable for him.  Some have made litte wraps to cover the wound or worn t-shirts..

Thanks for the tshirt ideas so I would just wrap it around his area hmm I might try that if he gets to fussy with the cone thanks

Hopefully I try to sleep tonight  glad I took off a couple of days for him ...never had this with a dog I had cats and not really a problem with neutering  for care first for me so I am kinda nervous

Look in the Puppy Madness group, I will try to find some of the posts about a month back.  Someone made a rectangle like wrap with velcro out of flannel...

Here are two discussions we had about alternatives to cones. I think he will be feeling better tomorrow and hopefully, sleepy tonight from the anesthesia. Try not to worry too much.
