Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I just wanted to throw this out there. I don't even know if I am allowed to or not on this website so if I am not I hope Adina will forgive me.

Most of us on here are Hopeless Doodle Addicts, no matter what our number status is on here. I am almost totally confident that if I was to come to any of your homes, I would be able to find more toys then the average toy store has. (My house literally is overrun with toys) I bet I could find brushes and grooming supplies that have cost so much money that you could feed a shelter or rescue dog for a year with the money you spent on it. I am not saying you shouldn't. Lord, I am not kidding when I say I hide some of Jack's toys when people come over because it is down right embarrassing.

My health is horrible and I am only able to work one day a week, but somehow I always budget in for Jack.

I have started something that I really want to see take off. For Jack's second birthday which is a week from today, I am having a birthday party for him. In lieu of gifts I am accepting money and or food for the local shelter.

What I did not realize is that we right here, some very special doodles are in need. I have to be honest, I never in a million years could have imagined that a doodle would be in need, I mean they are the cutest, sweetest and most loving dogs in all the world right?? HA. who knew.

I have not been on here long so I was not fully aware of the DRC group on here. I just talked to Karen yesterday.  I have donated some money to them already, I don't have much, but I spent what I would have spent on an average day taking Jack out to buy him more toys he does not need.

Would you join me in donating something to DRC?  Just click on this link and you can see.

Did you know Adina's little Rosco came from there??? I will now be donating all of Jack's christmas, birthday, easter, and holiday present funds to this amazing organization.

Would you join me in wishing my baby a happy birthday by helping another dood in need? I promise Jack is having a huge party, with dog cake, ice cream and lots of fun. We need to make other dood's lives better.

So what do you say, so many of you said you wanted to come to Jack's birthday  party. This is a way you can contribute. For each person that contributes because of this post. I will personally send you a little and I do mean little because that is all I can do, token to say thank you for helping other doods.

What do you say? Who is in?

I say I am in!  I just donated!
Dori, Thank you so much!!! If you send me your address in  a private message, Jack and I will put something in the mail for you in the next week!!! How awesome thanks again!!!!
Your thanks is my gift.  What a great idea.  For Rua's 1st (you and Jack are coming, right??) I will have eveyone bring something to donate to our local humane society and I will donate to DRC in recognition of her 1st birthday!

We would love to come to Rua's party. I have no idea where you live though!!! It may be too far. I am donating to a local shelter as well because I think all dogs deserve a fair chance at being treated with love and respect Of course though, doodles sit dead smack in the middle of my heart, (Just next to God) and I am a huge doodle lover.

Thanks again

Omaha!!!!!  Yes....my Rua is smack in the middle of my heart...and yes, next to God!  :-)  Today is Rua's 7 month birthday.  I have been taking pictures of her month-by-month.  As I took this picture, I noted her overflowing basket of toys!  And there might be a few others not in her basket.

Jack has the same stuffed dog with a scarf that Rua is standing next to! I am going to take a picture of all his toys he has (if I ever work up enough nerve) A lot of his presents were bought for him. I have amazing friends and when they found out I was getting a puppy, they threw me a doggie baby shower. I have given a million real baby showers in my life and I guess since I can't have kids, they decided to do that for me.. It was so much fun. Jack does not destroy toys so we have collected quite a bit over the past two years!!!

Thank you again for giving...

Ok, I just donated. No need to send anything, your thanks is enough. :)
Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!!

Oops, I got it backwards, Bocca came from the DRC rescue not Rosco.... Either way, How cool. Karen is the VP of the company so you all know it is a great company to give to.

I am so excited!!!!

Thank you so much for this, Jennifer!

I need to add that we are not a company, lol. We are a registered 501c3 not-for- profit charitable organization dedicated to rescue & rehoming of doodle dogs!

I donated a couple weeks ago...when the beaten doodle died :-(

This is a wonderful idea though. I too have an embarrassing number of toys.

I have dog and kid toys AND grown-up toys too (snowboarding and rock climbing equipment, flamenco and other dance shoes and skirts).  Consumerism is alive in my house.  At least my family's cars are 10 and 7 yrs old.

Melissa, that is awesome!!!! Thanks so much. I am very cheap when it comes to me, I won't spend a penny but when it comes to Jack, I literally have to try to find new dog stores to find toys he does not have. I don't feel that bad though because he does play with them all!!!

THank you for doing this!!!
