I do not understand.  EVERYTIME I bring my golden doodle to get groomed she comes back like a big puffy Q-Tip.  I even brought pictures today and explained that i DO NOT want her puffy.  My typed directions also included, "Long Wavy Curls .... NOT PUFFY".  Is it something I am saying wrong.  What do I need to tell the groomer for them to get it right.  I always have to bring her home and rewet her to get rid of the puff.

She is a F1B with long soft wavy curls on her legs and chest.  She has an odd type of corse sort of wavyish curl mixed with some straighter wavy curls on her back.

Thank you for your help.  I sent her with the 2 pictures below with an explanition that the top dog's hair texture/style and the body cut of the larger dog.  Thank you for your help, Renee

I agree - the poof is a result of drying. Air drying can take a long time, and groomers usually need the space for other clients. I just take a squirt bottle and mist my girl when she comes home if I want to get rid of the poofiness. You don't have to get them very wet - it's easy and it works. Try it.
The secret is having them look good to you.  If you like the way they look, then it is great.  If you don't, ....well maybe it will be better next time.  If you have the time, try doing your own grooming.  It is very satisfying after you get over the initial fear.  We love it, and our dogs love it.  And they always look good to us.

That is so true.So satisfying after the fear.I was so scared to give Jake a haircut, never groomed any of my dogs before. But it came out great, just how I wanted it.I was actually proud of myself and Jake looked so much better.

Yes, it is such a satisfying feeling to groom your Doodle and they look good.  I have people ask me who my groomer is all the time...I just say ME!!!  lol
