SB 5 Ohio

So, I am really hoping that Senate Bill 5 does not pass this week.  I just can not believe what is going on in the state of Ohio.

 

I know that unions have their good and bad points, but to me the good out way the bad.  To take away from public employees and especially saying teachers make WAY TOO much money is INSANE!!!

 

I get tired of people saying that our jobs are easy......seriously???  I know we are different than the business world, but if it were not for teachers.....there would not be a governor or any kind of business.  We helped Kasich get to where he is and this is what we get back?

 

My husband teases me, but then will admit that he could NEVER do my job.

 

Ok, I am off my soap box now.......I just needed to vent with what is going on here in Ohio and Wisconsin.  I love you my brothers and sisters who are public employees.............

Keep up posted on the personal side of what is happening because it is just the beginning of a country-wide movement and we need to know what is actually happening and not what the 'news' says is happening.  Whew! Was that a long sentence or what!

This is a really scary move to us... If more states decide to move toward to this "Union Bust" movement, more states will join..... Especially for the teachers, if the principal does not like you, he/she can get your life miserable even when you are good teacher. It will be terrible if there would be no union to back us up in the situations like that.... Especially, it seems that they are targetting teachers..... don't they realize we are raising the future!?

No, Kyoko, they do not.  People think that because they went to school, they could just as well teach it.  The aret of teaching is a learned skill but it is also a talent that not everyone has or even the aptitude for.  It is an under-appreciated career and what is really, really a shame, is that those who have been 'in the trenches' tend to forget how hard teachers work and they also forget that teaching is not just presenting material from a book.

Especially in today's society, when children do not come ready to learn, behaved, etc, and parents are too busy trying to make the ends meet working 2 jobs, etc... and so spent by the time when they get home to their children....I think both parents and children are so stressed with much obligation today, it makes it harder for them to be  children and enjoy learning..... Thus makes teachers job harder - rewarding :-) It will be nice if it is recongnized.....

SB 5 has passed in the state of Ohio :(  I am not looking forward to what happens next :(

 

The sad part is we are in negotiations and I do not know how this is going to effect it :(

 

This is a sad day for all public employees for the state of Ohio :(

We just found out that our governor  never graduated from College, and there is a rumor that he only has a GED oh boy w will, see    We r going to fight to the end !

• Money to get elected -required;
• ability to double speak -required;
• silver tongue -desired; 
• look distinguished - desired
• education level - elementary school;
• business sense -not required; 
• business experience -not required;
• common sense  -not required
• knowledge of the big picture -not required
