I was folding the laundry from the dryer and Oliver grabbed a used dryer sheet that fell from the dryer.  He ate it before I could get it from him.  Does anyone know if these things are dangerous???..He seems fine, sleeping right now, but this is his evening nap time.  Any info would be greatly appreciated...

Just read this and had to add: My parents' lab ate 1/2 of a tennis ball! :) They did an x-ray and you could see part of it in his stomach.
Maybe everyone better just stick with static on their clothes...LOL...seems nothing is safe!
My friends dog ate a  used dryer sheet when she was about a year old, the dog was acting a little stoned, lethargic , loose poops and threw up as well, they only discovered it was the dryer sheet when she pooped it out a couple of days later. Her dog was fine after. I haven't bought dryer sheets since. Hopefully Oliver will be fine but if he starts to show any signs at all I would certainly call or take him to the vet. Good Luck
Thanks Donna, he seems fifne, waiting  for the vets office to open just to be sure...
I'll bet he has sweet breath right now! Perhaps spring rain or summer lavender or one of the other clean scents.
Spring Rain in this house...Lol
How's Oliver doing this morning????
Hi Jane, he seems just fine this morning.  He is up playing, went out did his thing, came in and ate his breakfast, is watching out the window right now in his usual position in my office, he lies on the spare room bed, chin on the window sill and watches the world go by.  DH walked him this morning and I forgot to ask him if he saw anything in his poop.  I am headed toward the office right now, so I will ask him when I get there.  Thanks for asking Jane, I will let you know how he is doing....
Just wanted to let everyone know I spoke with the vet this morning first thing.  He said he would probably pass it, not to worry.  Since it was a used one, he was really not concerned for poisoning.  He felt that the chemicals were probably gone with the fact that it was used.  But he told me to watch him for lethergy, vomitting and such.  He is fine thank goodness, being his usual self, so I am so relieved, yet still concerned till tonight and it has been 24 hrs since the incident occured.  I want to thank you all for your suggestions, your help, and your caring so much..This is really a truly remarkable group of people we have here.  And dogs too, of course, lol...Thank you everyone for your kindness and concern, it really helped me...
Oops.. you got lost in my e-mail responses!  Glad to see everything is fine! Whew!
I am so glad Oliver is ok. I wish I had seen this yesterday, Achilles has done this a few times and was ok. My vet said the exact thing yours did. I should really switch to the dryer balls as well. For some reason this is a favorite of Achilles.
Regarding the dryer balls...these would be equally or more dangerous at my house.  Rosco has chewed up TWO dryer balls--throwing up the contents later in the yard and if it was a tennis ball it would have the same fate except he probably wouldn't swallow the pieces.
