Ditto again on thoughts and prayers..
I heard it when I was getting up this morning.  I am praying for those people in Japan, what a horror...I don't seem to remember in any time that the west coast of the US has ever been on alert, or getting hit by a Sunami.  We go to Hawaii every year, and on the Big Island of Hawaii itself, in the town of Hilo, there are markers and rememberences to a time when a sunami hit and nearly destroyed the entire city.  I kept watchng during the day to see if all was well on our coasts. I just heard and it is now 8 P.M. EST, that they are still on alert to the possibility of a second wave!!!..Lets hope not, those poor people in Japan, and the 3 nuclear reactors that had to be shut down, because the cooling systems didn't work!!!  That is scarey too...I used to laugh at the Mayan Calendar saying that the end of the world is 2012....Maybe they knew something we don't...Lets just hope that all here in the affected areas here and abroad are ok, and let this awful day end...

My sons were in Hawaii over Thanksgiving. I kept asking them if they knew what to do for a Tsunami. (of course, they laughed at me). They were on the Big Island.

Thoughts and prayers for all involved.

Amazing the amount of power a wave can push.   All of the beaches in Monterey County were closed for 12 hours and there was little damage here, but in Santa Cruz (north end of the Monterey Bay) two piers were destroyed and several boats sunk in the harbor.  I stayed home and watched it all on television.  A friend's son was at the airport checking in for his flight home when the earthquake struck.  He was okay, but no flights of course.  Haven't heard if he is home yet.
Thank you for that video of the tsunami waves. Amazing to watch. Really saddened about Japan's earthquake and the people.
I just pray that those needing rescue get it as quickly as possible.
