Just a quick question. When I was searching for other info on doodlekisses, I saw someone make a comment about how there was a discussion about not taking these medications on the same day. I tried searching for the discussion, but didn't find it. Would someone point me in the right direction? Or tell me what they know about this? Thanks a bunch!

Some of us feel it is better not to give the two preventatives at the same time, because if your dog should have a reaction, you won't know what caused it.
My vet told me to give them both to her on the first day of the month.
I am not sure what is better. I did notice though when she got all of the shots on her second visit, she was a little sick a couple days later....coincidence or not....not sure.
Thank you! One time I thought she did have a reaction, but the vet said no. She urinated on her bed while I was at work. She hadn't had an accident in the house since she was about 3 months. There were no changes in her routine except that I gave her a flea preventative before I left for work.  I will do this from now on and that way I can be sure.
I give Gracie Doodle Comfortis and Sentinel.  The vet told me to give one on the 1st of the month and the other on the 15th.  This is only because they say that besides heartworm, Sentinel also works on fleas so by spacing the medication you get better and longer acting flea protection should you forget to give a pill exactly on the right day.  That is the only reason that I have been told.  Though it does make good sense to space them out so you are not putting too much stuff in them in one day.

We give Bailey Interceptor on the 15th and Frontline Plus on the 27th.  Our vet recommended that it be separated and spaced out.  So each month our calendar is marked to remind us to give Bailey his heartworm and flea medication!

Hope that helps!
