Nature's Vareity Medallion Question.
I currently have Maci on the Nature's Variety Raw Medallions. We do a lot of road trips by car. Here is my dilemma - if we go for a week or more, I usually take just enough for the road trip there and once we are were we are staying for the week (normally a house or condo with a full size frig/freezer), I usually buy a bag there. On our upcoming trip I cannot find a store in close proximity to where we are staying that carries Nature's Variety.
So my first question is - once the medallions defrost, can they be refrozen?
If not, any ideas on how I could keep them frozen on the road until we get to our actual destination?
My next thought process was to try their freeze dried raw - any one have any experience with it?
Thanks!!!

Hey Jack was on Natures Variety Raw,, In fact my freezer still has a ton of them in it. It was a PIA to travel with, I would get a cooler and stock it with ice and bury them in ice. Natures Variety also has the kibble both grain free and the one with good grains. Jack ate it. They are all meant to be interchanged. I just wanted to point out one thing about the kibble, the rabbit is outsourced from China. It says so right on their website. So if you are going to switch to kibble for the trip keep that in mind.
I never refroze Jack's medallions. I actually never even defrosted them, I gave them to him frozen. I don't think it is safe to defrost and then refreeze, and I believe you can use the defrosted ones up to two days.
Good luck,
Hi Jennifer - yes, it is a PIA to travel with. Usually I can find a store that carries it where ever I am going, but this time, I can't find one. And this trip, I am going to be on the road for 3 days before I reach my final destination and I know I can't keep them frozen that long and especially with the hotel I am staying in not having a freezer/frig in the room.
Little history here - even though Maci is a 5th generation Australian Labradoodle, I think she has more poodle than anything in her when it comes to eating. She is so dang picky - she was never big on kibble, canned or even now the RAW. I picked up a back of the Stella & Chewy's freeze dried - OMG - she "inhaled" it so who knows maybe I'll just go that route all the time. She is a medium doodle, about 19 inches at the shoulders and weighs 32 pounds. My sister calls her Kate Moss when she's wet. I've tried putting a few pounds on her but doesn't happen (wish I had that problem). My vet says she is fine but....
If I were going to go the kibble route I would put her back on Orijen, which was what I had her on before doing the RAW thing. Thanks for all of your info I appreciate it.
