Do they come in that size?

When you tell people that your dog is a miniature labradoodle, how often do you here someone say "Oh, I didn't realized that labradoodles come in a small size"?

Everyone we meet says this to us, that is after they comment on our really cute poodle.

I get that all the time, People usually think Jack is a goldendoodle puppy. He is exceptionally small, He is full grown but a toy GD and I just weighed him tonight because people started commenting on how much bigger he looked and he is now 12 pounds!!!!

so this is totally going to sound horrible, but i honestly didn't realize that goldendoodles came in toy size.  hehe.  now i am starting to sound like all those non-doodle people out there!!  Guess I better brush up on my doodle knowledge!

Luna looks just like a mini golden retriever (although a bit scruffier), so they at first think she's a young GR puppy (she's about 34 pounds)... but then they look again and she doesn't have that "baby" face and they get confused.

 

We actually get Duck Tolling Retriever a lot too because she's red like one...and the confusion continues!

That happened to me the first time i took Storm to the dog park.

I also get this all the time. I have a medium golden doodle, Bella who is 37lbs and a mini labradoodle Mia who is 14lbs. People will ask if Mia is Bella's puppy. lol

This happens ALL the time with Tara!!  People ask "what" she is and when I say a labradoodle they always think she is a puppy!  Now if she is acting like a dufus then I just let them believe that she is 4 months old (she is actually 2 years!). LOL!!! If she is being well behaved then I explain that she is a mini and they look horrified most of the time. And like you say they have  never heard of it!  So I just say "miniature poodle" and that usually is enough to satisfy them.

Most people who see Ned assume that he is a poodle with a 'puppy cut' and to be honest lots of little doodles really resemble their poodle parent. I don't think they think he is a puppy though.
