How old is Max now?  His hair looks truly luxurious!  He went from dark, dark chocolate to more of a semi-sweet/dutch chocolate :-)

Max is almost 3 yrs old. I've enjoyed watching the color change. He looks very similar to his mama.

How old is he here???? Gorgeous!!!!!  This is what my Hank is looking like, although only 4 1/2 months old so I know he can change, but his dad and grandpa kept his dark color!  I love the lighter red around his face!

Wow Adrianne - Looking at the pics is like me looking at my dog.  That's exactly what Xena looked like as a puppy & she now has the same coloring. I do wish she stayed that deep chocolate brown color but she is always the center of attention bc of her coloring. Im a little biased but you have a beautiful doodle!

I was just about to post a question on chocolate doodle coat colour change, but relieved to hear that it's common.

I have a 1-year old dark chocolate labradoodle and recently noticed more white hair on his back, bum and hind legs. It looks like he's having grey hair. Is this normal?

Hi Kimmy, Sophie is the same. She was always very dark chocolate. She looks like Chewie, an ALD too. She has sprinkles of silver on her back and a big silver patch on her tail. Her coat is definitely getting ligther, but she is 1 year and 3 months and still quite dark all over. I'm hoping she doesn't get too light, as I really like her dark chocolate coat, but if she does that's ok too. I'll love her just the same!

Hi Sherri, Same here! I really love his dark chocolate coat too. Wonder how much lighter he will get as he gets older. He's 1 year and1 month right now. He doesn't have any white patches now, but just random strands of white hair here and there.

What colour are Sophie's parents? Chewie's dad is chocolate but his mom his white.

Chewie's dad, Duffy, is a lighter shade of chocolate (see picture below). I saw Duffy's puppy pictures and Chewie's much darker shade even as a puppy.
