It was a beautiful day today and I let Charlotte stick her head out the car window. We were only driving to my mom's house - down our long driveway and across the street. Anyway, as we pulled into the driveway, I heard this frantic yet muffled, panicked whimpering. Charlotte had her head in the window but she was standing on the window switch so she had rolled the window up on herself. I mean all the way up so she looked like she was "hung" on the window. I used the master controls and quickly rolled down the window but it was somewhat frightening. I just wanted to remind everyone to have the window controls "locked" if you are letting your dog stick his/her head out. It was 4H dog class night so our car ride had just begun but poor Charlotte stayed far from the window the rest of the evening.
That has nearly happened to Kassidy. She didn't quite get the window up that far but it taught me to lock the controls so that only I can let the window up or down from the master switch. Glad Charlotte is okay.
Oh, and another potential vehicle danger.....sliding mini-van doors. Webster likes to lay on the floor of the van next to the sliding door. One day when he was a puppy, we hit the button to open the door and he started to slide along the track nearly getting caught between the door and the van. I always warn my kids to check the dogs before any doors are open but I never thought I'd have to watch for the sleeping puppy.
