OK, I thought it was just my older doodle Oliver, but now the baby, Rosie has learned the fine art of tissue stealing. I've always had trouble with Oliver searching trash cans for discarded tissues, he runs with them to his house and used to guard them, giving a nasty growl if you tried to take it away. After a lot of work, Oliver seems to have mastered the "drop it" command and no longer guards thank goodness!

I don't know if Oliver had anything with this, but Rosie was the last one running out of the room!!!How could anything so sweet get into any trouble??

Stella is a tissue hound, preferring used to fresh. ;-)
My old Bichon Frise was the same way... you could leave a full kleenex box sitting on the floor no problems.. but at night she would try to steal any used kleenex not firmly secured in a trash bin with the lid closed AND something heavy on the lid.
Mine have not figured out the TP roll yet thank goodness!
I could leave a box of issues, and roll of toilet paper and a roll of paper towels sitting on the living room floor and neither of the girls would touch them, but when we are at the hospital and Sophie sees a tissue on the floor, she is obsessed until she gets to it.  They are normally under a bed or something and she acts like a little fool!
Oh, how adorable!!!  We call Sheila a pickpocket because she can oh so quietly filch napkins right off our Iaps.  Your are big enough to be called dumpster divers.  She she can only get into the bathroom wastebasket, but I can hear her.
Thank goodness I'm not alone! My baskets are usually kept empty, or else they are up on the counter... The family is going through a spring cold fling!!  I can't keep up with the tissues, but the doodles love it!
That's too funny I can just picture Sheila sneaking napkins from under the table!
LOL Ann!  Love the title of your post!  I've wondered that myself...on a daily basis!   Will this never end?   Banjo will grab any tissue or paper he can reach....and then the game's on!   Chase me....chase me!     Wonderful pictures of the crime scene and the criminal.  Thanks for the laugh!
Ha ha!  Both Penny and Biscuit leave the dry ones alone.  But (and this is gross), they BOTH love to pick the used ones out of the wastebasket.  The ones I've blown my nose into!  GROSS!

Yes, I believe it is in their genetic makeup.  Both poodles and goldens or labs are water retrievers and what better way to retrieve water then with a tissue?  Or, in Albus's case, a washcloth or dish towel.  Doodles are smart and it is obvious that humans leak water and it needs to be retrieved.  That is what they are bred for....   :-)

If I could only teach them to use the tissues to clean the floor around the water bowl!
Oh Rosie....you are too cute!  Are you sure this little angel did it?  I'm think the older brother is the culprit!
