Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Melissa of Porter and I were recently discussing what sign we would hang in our entry if we wanted to instruct our arriving guests how to "behave" in our homes-especially in regard to interacting with our doodles.

Melissa's was:

"If you are female please shower the dog in the armchair with attention

If you are male please ignore the dog until your third visit"

Mine would be:

"Please remove your shoes and keep your hands at your sides"

Okay, the SHOE part is for me but "hands at your sides" is because people waving their hands about seem to trigger some friendly "spaz out and attack" mechanism in Tara.

What would your sign say?

Oh boy, Lisa, it this ever appropriate for my house too!!

  Mine would be

Caution:   Do Not Enter With Kleenex in your Pockets!!

Wilson loves to search pockets for Kleenex, on one walk as he stopped to say hi to another puppy, He went over to the human for a pet, reached inside her pocket to grab her Kleenex,!!  Needless to say the women was shocked, surprised, then laughed, and asked "Does he always do that"   Yep!!  I am trying to teach him to grab $20.00 but its not working

(just kidding about the $$ part)   Have  a great Day

Sue, I like the way you think!! There should be a way to put that talent to good use!!  Now I'm wondering if Wilson is DK's first pickpocket doodle??

Huff does this too! He comes up to may dad, aticks his nose in his jacket pocket, and comes out with a paper towel. It is so funny to watch.

Please ignore the dogs (no touching or acknowledging) until they are calm with 4 feet on the floor ---- And this means you too MAMAW"!

My Mom thinks none of the rules apply to her ..... however, Lucy has almost given her a black eye on many occasions because Mom will not abide by the rules!

What is it about Mom's and rules?  My mom consistently puts her hand up high over Phoebe's head when she enters our house as if to tell Phoebe "jump, jump high' without ever saying the words!  I tell her over and over not to do it but, when Phoebe knocks her over with her exhuberance, will mother have really known best???
I found that as I got older my parents started to behave more like young people..being silly, breaking rules, not giving a darn! WTD?? Is this pay back??
If a near black eye didn't get the point across I would say she is just too hard-headed!! :)
