Zoe is 17 months old, totally housebroken and has pretty good manners.  We CANNOT leave her home alone (out of her crate) or she will find something to chew on due to a terrible case of separation anxiety while we are gone.  I do not know how to break her of this because I would love to get rid of the crate alltogether!!!

Any suggestions??

there are a lot of training things people can do to help dogs actually like crates. i think most dogs don't like them at first but you can work with them to have good associations with the crate. there is even crate games people play with their dogs. youtube has some videos on the crate games. i ordered a dvd on them because the dogs look like they are having so much fun.
Oh funny, never thought of that!!!!  Thanks!
