I'm very sorry to hear that our extra large size gentle brother, Winston (from Estee/Hank) just had a surgery AGAIN from eating socks. Winston has had a surgery once when he was a puppy, also from eating socks.

Luxie (from Estee/Micah) is a Miss Sock Monster that she has eaten a few socks and needed a surgery. Luxie got famous that her story was printed in PetPlan's news paper - "petplan claim of the month!"

Mochi (from Tula/Micah) also loves socks. He swallowed a few of mommy's socks (they're smaller), luckily we were able to make him throw up by giving him a bit of peroxide right away.

Who else is a sock monster here?

Ha, ha...good discussion Joyce. Lucca was a Sock Thief for Halloween, remember. He has eaten them but so far has been lucky. He really likes the toe part. Izzy hasn't eaten one yet (knock on wood..she has enough problems):)

Kathie, so sorry about Winston. Hopefully he's is doing ok now.

Kona doesn't eat anything he shouldn't. Owen eats something he shouldn't at least once per hour. He has us at our wits end. This morning he was chewing the drywall in the dog's space under the stairs. Why???
Bonnie...Lucca did that in our kitchen when he was a puppy. I sprayed bitter apple on the drywall and it seemed to help. I think some of the furry babies have huge oral fixations:)
Carla, I know this is crazy but you have just encouraged me so much because I believe Lucca is a great dog from what you have written. Owen is really just killing us with his constant trouble making. Happily he is also so cute and cuddly we are madly in love with him. I sprayed bitter apple on the walls right away. He had already done major damage but it's hidden from public places in the house. sigh.

haha don't feel bad, Owen's not the only one.

Our neighbor's super sweet ALD puppy also chewed up their walls.

I'm glad Mochi has never done any damages to our furnitures or walls. Only to his poor toys.

Thanks Bonnie..There is hope. Joyce felt the same way about Mochi. They seem to change at that magical year mark. I feel how you feel about Owen about Izzy. She doesn't get into trouble by eating things but she is a little instigator. Luckily she is cute too!!!! The way I look at it is if we had them first we probably never would have gotten a 2nd one.....kind of like real kids.

You can add Tigger to the sock monster list!  Tigger LOVES socks, and my kids little socks are just bite size for him.  The first time he ate a sock, luckily my son saw him and got all upset.  I called the vet and they told me give him hydrogen peroxide.  That lovely experience didn't seem to deter him and he gets socks all the time even though I do my darndest to pick them up.  Tigger seems to automatically throw them up now although I did find that a sock had made it all the way through his system a couple of weeks ago when I was picking up dog poop in the backyard.  We've been lucky so far!

Oh yeah, and Tigger has nibbled on the wall and one of the baseboards but luckily that seems to have stopped.  Good thing he's cute! :)

wow you're lucky that Tigger either throws them up or the socks had their own nice and smooth adventure in Tigger's tummy. I feel so bad for Winston and Luxie that they had to go through the surgeries.

Jelly loves socks but hasn't ate any. She is however a chewing cyclone of destruction. We have bitter apple in every room she is allowed in. Wood seems to be her favorite choice....like the trim on the coffee table, cabinet corners and baseboards! Ugh

Mochi never chewed walls. But he loves chewing wood sticks on walks. He usually shreds them and eats some. It's like he's still teething at age 2!

I buy him rawhide but he's not interests in those anymore, they're everywhere on our floor. I need to get him bully sticks instead, he loves those.

I can tell Jellybean and Owen are from the same litter. Crazy-making! I met another Tulip Tree doodle today and he is as calm as a cucumber. ;o(
Stephanie...my Golden Retriever used to chomp on our coffee table and the wrungs on the chairs!!! She did out grow it if that's any help:)
