Webster looks up.  He knows all about windows and he looks up to see who is where.  When he is in the backyard, he looks up to the 2nd story and will see me and wag his tail.  He even seems to know what window is for which room.  If my DH lets him in, he will come upstairs into the room where he last saw me.  (I REALLY need a shade on the bathroom window.  No person can see in but it is a bit disconcerting to "get comfortable" when my dog is staring up at me.)

Webster also watches airplanes.  If we hear a loud one, he will look up and follow the plane with his eyes.  And we won't even talk about flying birds.  Birds, ducks, geese, and, yes, buzzards - Webster will watch them in the sky.

So I'm wondering, does your dog look up?  Or is this just a Webster thing.......

Yes, our dogs look up to see us in the second story window and they look at birds, too. But if someone is cooking or eating, instead of begging by looking up at the person, Kona stares at the floor waiting for something to appear (he never gets people food unless it falls on the floor). He cracks us up.
Our Gracie looks up and is very intuitive.  She looks out our bedroom window while sitting on our bed at 4:15 every afternoon because that is when our neighbor comes home from work.  Gracie knows that in less than 10 minutes her two best friends Sable and Genie (dogs) will come out and then she will come get me to go play.  It is like clock work how she knows.  I can ask her to go find her Poppa and she knows right where he is.  Same with her toys.  I tell her to go find...and she comes back with whomever I told her to go get.  We have a bird nest in our tree and she has seen us look up at it and talk about it.  Now when we mention the "birdies" she goes over to the tree right under the nest and looks up directly at it.  If one of her balls gets stuck in the tree she knows right where it is and if we bring her in the house, later when we go back outside, even the next day, she goes right to where it is and points at it with her nose and eyes.  Gracie is very aware of what is around her. She never forgets!!!   She looks out the living room window to the house across the street to see if Bindi (Goldendoodle) is in her window.  They stare at each other.  She also checks out each house that has a dog friend to see if there is any activity.  If we say one of the dogs name she will turn her head in the direction of the house and look at it.  We live in a cul de sac so she has a good view of the "hood"!!!  And, when use the chuck it to throw her tennis ball we can say "going high" and she looks up and tracks it all the way and catches it in the air or on the first bounce.  She would make a fantastic outfielder for some team!  Then we say "going low" and we throw a long grounder.  She gets into her low run and takes off after it.  Once she catches it she lays down in a pounce position and waits for another grounder.  There are always two balls involved.  She can catch and carry two at once!  Very unique girl our Gracie Doodle is!
Daisy started looking up about 4 months ago, geese or ducks fly over and she watches until they are gone, a plane noise she looks up. When she first started looking up it was a particularly warm day in the winter and we had our ceiling fan on, she freaked. Ever since she keeps her watch out for the sky falling.
Jack likes to watch planes, too.  We live under a path for FedEx planes approaching the airport.  Late at night they fly expecially low, so DH takes Jack out to watch.  It's funny to see him looking up into the sky tracing the flight path.
Coco looks up at birds, planes, the medivac chopper!! She takes a moment to find people who are calling her from up high but she will look up after looking aroundmat her level!!
We don't have planes coming the low overhead but they definitely watch the birds!
Yes, especially Starlit. She does it at least 30 minutes out of the day.   Most of the time she just stares but a lot of the time she is afraid " The Sky is Falling " especially when it is windy
