When I told people I was getting a Goldendoodle...A few said- neat, they dont shed...I said "Some do, but I have lived with dog fur all my life, it doesnt bother me"  Was that a mistake.  LOL

My Flat-Coated Retrievers shed- I wouldnt say bad.  Clumps in the corners of the Kitchen.  The grey carpet I got used to looking a little darker then it was.  I almost always wear black..My FC fur did not show up on it- Though it didnt stick to my clothes either.

When I got Trixie she did not shed...for 2 weeks!  Then all of a sudden my Clothes were full of her fur.  Wow, its white & it sticks to all of my dark clothes.  I guess I do mind Shedding! LOL

I brush her 1-2  times a day...I get a bit out each time.

I am not going to switch to light clothes...Im sure I will get used to it.  But I dont like fur on my clothes.

I am very neurotic and have always been a clean freak so when our Sydney Doodle starting shedding at 5 months I was mortified.  This became a habit....I would always take Sydney for a walk before I dressed for work.  Black was our favorite color.  Now, we seldom wear black since it's embarassing to go out with hair all over our black attire.  When I hug Sydney (which I love to do), I always end up with that fine hair in my mouth.  We especially love it when we open our refrigerator and find all those Doodle hairs.  I must admit, I do not invite friends over any more who are not Dog Lovers.  And, we always tell our guests to wear jeans!  We recently had an old friend over for dinner (very sexy and handsome) and as we sat across the table from him, we watched a fine Doodle hair flying around which was stuck to his eyeglasses.  He has a dog so it was not big deal.
LOL I just had someone at the dog park say to me yesterday "oh wow a goldendoodle, how lucky you are not to have to deal with all the shedding!"  then I started to laugh like a loon and tell them I could make a full length doodle coat out of all the fur she sheds!  Ah whatever, it would have been nice not to pick dog hair out of my food sometimes or be able to wear black without going through 3 lint rollers but I look at the bright side and am thankful that the color of my furniture is the same color as Hunter's coat.

I've had people tell me that JD can't be a labradoodle 'cause "they don't shed", lol!

What's funny to me is that I lived with real non-shedding dogs for years (my poodles) and nobody ever commented on the non-shedding aspects of owning a purebred poodle. Do people just not know that poodles don't shed?

Yes, but was the furniture the same color as Hunter before you got Hunter?  ; )
Owen sheds. When he was a puppy I was hoping I was wrong. He does not shed anything like our Goldens did though. At 8 months I'm trying to figure out if he will need to have his hair cut. He has many types of hair... soft straight, wavy coarse, thick straight coarse, bunny fur, etc. It's laughable! His long chin hair will need to be cut but not sure about the rest of him. His eye lashes are super long like our other doodle who has fleece/wool. Do your shedders have the long eye lashes?
Mine does. I don't think the length of their lashes is related to shedding.
I was just wondering if because their lashes keep growing (like hair, not fur) maybe it was an indicator. Clearly not! haha

Banjo is a light shedding F1 Golden Doodle.

My name is Quincy and I am a light shedder and more so after I'm brushed but my mom loves me anyway even though she has to clean the floors every day. I didn't really start shedding about a year ago.

I will update my post from almost 2 years ago.

Trixie is an F1 Goldendoodle...She still sheds...Though not nearly as bad as she had been 1 1/2-2 years ago.  She shakes & hair flies...I go to sleep with hair in my face.   She leaves clumps on the floor.  it is funny when the clumps are at the ends of her fur- still clinging on.

The fur is not as bad on my clothes anymore either

My doodle sheds lots and lots, sigh... Thank goodness for the furminator, vacuums and lint rollers. LOL But she is so cute!
